Dr. Jerome Raymond Zink, MD

Dr. Zink removed some very large kidney stones for me. It may sound strange, but I was very pleased with the experience. Dr. Zink patiently answered ALL my questions in clear language with no jargon and doctor speak : ) He was kind and I never felt rushed or that he had somewhere more important to be. He is thorough. He examined a last minute cat scan that was taken in the urgent care the evening before the surgery (taken because I had come in for pain medication from a pre-op procedure for which I had foolishly thought I could forgo the pain medication.) His examination before surgery disclosed that a rather large stone in my other kidney had begun to pass and was blocking the tube between the kidney and the bladder. This meant I had extremely limited kidney function there which was a problem given that my other kidney would be subpar as it was recovering. Dr Zink removed the blockage and restore full kidney function on that side. I would highly recommend Dr.… Zink and his team.

Dr. Zink's office staff was great, and Dr. Zink himself was very clear with me about what was most likely to be the issue and what we could do about it. He was excellent at involving me in the decision-making process and treating me with courtesy and respect. Definitely a good experience. He talks pretty quickly, but checked with me repeatedly to find out whether I had questions. I was also impressed that he didn't push for treatment when non-treatment was a viable option--I think that speaks volumes about how much he cares about the patient.
