Dr. Jerry Lester Callaway, MD

Dr. Callaway was referred to me by another doctor. He was a blessing to me because he is the only one who has taken an interest in my pre-diabetes. I'm sure I can get my numbers down with his guidance. I've had other ailments and he's diagnosed them quickly. Also, I he got me off ambien which I had taken for years. He always comes up with the right plan to help. Dr. Callaway's staff has always been nice and helpful as well.

I have seen Dr. Callaway on several occasions and he has been very patient, thorough and professional and has diagnosed my problem quickly. He has helped me where other physicians were not able to. I would give him the highest marks and recommend him to anyone.

Saw him in the psych hospital. The psychiatrist, my attending, had prescribed me a small amount of klonopin which I had been taking at home for a while. This doctor is a former(?) drug addict and is against all scheduled drugs, no matter what. He discontinued the klonopin cold-turkey, even through people can die from abrupt benzo withdrawals. He would come into my room or find me in the hallway at all hours and tell me all about his personal life. It's was like he needed a therapist. Highly unprofessional, and an all-around a*******.

Total Whack Job. Stay away from this narcissistic quack. My first visit lasted 2.5 hours, leaving other patients waiting inordinate amounts of time, while he cracked jokes and showed me some of his original photographs. My second visit was even worse, since he was in a bad mood, and he hardly spent any time at all. He does not honor an educated patient's difference of opinion, and if you don't buy in to his dietary, exercise, 12-step dogma, he will call you a failure, & a personal disappointment to him. Go elsewhere. Don't waste your time.

I had an awful experience with Jerry (I won't call him a Dr.). I agree--> He is a punishing, arrogant man. <-- I got a second opinion and he laughed/scoffed at what Jerry said ! He and his staff are very rude and condescending. Jerry is very unprofessional in every way. He preaches exercise while he sits grossly out of shape. He also preaches, lectures and berates you about A.A. meetings and sponsorship and how his experiences helped him. He was a Alcoholic himself?! He claims to be Addiction Specialist and he can not take of himself! This man will make you feel bad. He's the worst person to see for someone seeking real and valuable help, or anyone wanting to be treated with dignity in a professional way.

Went to Dr Callaway and i was treated like a drug addict and a alcahlaic. Im a 2 beer weekend drinker! I stopped drinking and fallowed his plain for one mouth. Then was sent to the curb with no meds! Because i couldn't go to a few AA meetings! I whent to over 25 meetings in a row! I got yelled at in front of my wife! Then with no meds i went into mayjor withdrawal! I dropped by the office to see him and he would not even talk to me. It was just a let him suffer deal!!! Noo!!!! One should ever have to go through withdrawals!!!!!!! I ended up in the ER because of him!!!! Don't see this guy!!!! Its not worth it!!!!the staff is the only + to his office...

Dr. Callaway and his staff are by far the most helpful I have ever had. He cares so much for his patients and his treatment measures are the most suitable for me and my family. He takes the time and care to address my needs and does not rush into excessive medicinal answers so common with other doctors today. Bright, intelligent, and a bedside manner only so seldom seen in this country, this man is by far the biggest medical blessing I have had in my life as a patient. What more can I say?

Dr. Jerry Callaway saved my life one yr ago from excess of prescription medicine prescribed by Dr Navani. He is truly caring, respectful, brilliant & loves his medicine. He worries about his patients as a whole. You don't see this kind of Dr. This day's! He gave me a second chance to live!! After being bed ridden for seven yrs. With ridiculous amounts of medicines, living in a almost un conscious state. Thank's to Dr. Callaway, I live a normal life, of course with chronic pain! But, alive. He has taught me to live one day at a time, even five minutes at a time. God bless you & Thank you Dr. Jerry Callaway

It is time for Dr. Callaway to retire. He is just not the same anymore and frankly I believe he is now doing more harm than good. It is always tough to witness these situations, because these old docs have egos the size of God himself and unfortunately the patient is the one to ultimately suffer. Find yourself a spry young mind.

Jerry took our family on, 28 years ago, though his practice was very busy, and he didn't want new family practice patients, as he was focusing on his addiction-treatment practice.He knows me so well that he only has to look once, to tell if I'm doing well or not. He's the best!
