Dr. Jerry Lee Ellstein, MD

Dr. Ellstein is an excellent doctor, however, his office staff is so rude, that I will not be going back.

Dr Ellstein seems very competent and capable. His staff leaves a bit to be desired. Others have commented on Marsha in billing and must say she is down rate mean and nasty. No compassion for the patient solely focused on extracting money. Trying to have a bidirectional conversation with her is not possible. When I complained to another officer person they told me they have dealt with Marsha for years and no one wants to deal with her.

I broke my shoulder and referred to Dr. Ellstein. He had multiple x-rays performed and saw me twice in two weeks. On the last visit he advised that I should call Dr. Alpert as I needed surgery. I called and was told I would need to wait for appointment. However, Dr. Alpert called me back and asked me to come into the office the next day which I did. I was told I needed surgery immediately as now some time since injury. I had surgery the next day!

Practice is more concerned with how you are going to pay. Received more than 4 calls before noon to discuss finances. Not once did anyone ask how the patient was doing. Marcia must have run a boiler room at one point in her career.

I had a lingering hand condition that remained unresolved after almost two weeks and two other physicians. I called Dr. Ellstein, who did not know me, on a Sunday and he was kind enough to meet me in the ER. Within a short while, he diagnosed my condition, removed me from previously prescribed treatment, and put me on a new course. Within 2 days, my symptoms began to abate. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Ellstein's manner, professionalism and expertise.

The whole staff, except for one receptionist, is friendly, empathetic and professional. I never had to wait long. Therapy sessions are excellent and easy to schedule.

Cannot say enough wonderful compliments about Dr. Ellstein and his staff. My surgery and subsequent therapy and healing went perfectly!

I saw Ellstein for an auto accident case in which I injured both wrists when hit by a car. Ellstein told me he found several problems with my wrist/hand then gave am an injection, which did not help. He then told my insurance company there was nothing wrong with me and claimed I had no problems with working, despite the fact that I am a massage therapist and cannot use my hand at all for doing massages, or any kind of hands-on therapy, which I love to do. He is deceptive and is just in business for the money. He provided a false report to my insurance company.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! He came in the room for 3 minutes. He was rude and condescending. He does not take any health insurance and charges OUTRAGEOUS FEES! His office staff then threatens you to get you to give them a credit card and sign a contract to pay your bill monthly. The staff was the rudest I have ever encountered. NEVER recommend the Hand Center to anyone!!!!!!!

Was told by office that Dr. Ellstein accepts workers comp cases. When I got there he did a bait and switch. Did not examine me and said it was not workers comp (because my private insurance paid better for him). Buyer beware! Find a hand surgeon w/integrity - go elsewhere.
