Dr. Jerry Hanson Puckett, MD

Dr. Puckett performed nasal surgery on my spouse to remove a polyp. It appeared that after finding out we had a good insurance plan ($$$) , he recommended doing some other procedures while he was in there. We aren't medical people so figured this Doctor knew what he was doing and followed his recommendations. That proved to be a life changing mistake. He elected to remove some extra tissues and cut windows into the sinus cavities to help them drain better. Before that surgery, my spouse never had an ear infection in her entire life. After returning to his office now with the ear infections and explaining that there had never been one ear infection in her entire life, he couldn't understand what could cause that because what he did did not affect the ears. (we now know the eustachian tubes make the connection) In time we moved on to other ENT doctors because of the now on-going ear infections. We were told that they do not cut windows in your sinus's anymore because… the profession has learned that the body wants to drain the sinus's in the normal opening (as designed) and cutting openings in other places does no good at all. My spouse has had cronic ear infections for over a decade now resulting in multiple ear tubes, steroids, antibiotics of the strongest type, partial hearing loss and eventually resulting in a mastoidectomy. She has had a number of different "ear tubes" and what they call "wet ears" and her hearing is not normal over a decade later. In short, we're screwed... We still ponder if we hadn't had the good insurance coverage at that time if life would have been different? Eventually you have to decide what is good for your body so use this information if it is of any use. Some doctors can leave you in bad shape and they get to collect more $$ when you now have to keep returning as you suffer for the rest of your life.

The above says it all. I have throat cancer and was experiencing severe pain and a cough. After getting in to see him and having a scope I asked him to check for tumor. He said there was none. Just some inflammation. When I went to MD Anderson for c anger check up they took one quick look and confirmed the cancer had returned and was the cause of cough and pain. My wife could even pick the tumor out and this supposedly well trained doctor couldn’t. I’m embarrassed for him and wonder what the rest of his practice is like. I tried to get medicine for the pain and cough and he looked at me and said we don’t normally give strong medicine for a cough. What do you think now Dr Puckett. It’s cancer!

My primary care provider referred me to Dr. Puckett's office for earwax removal. There was extreme pain when they tried to remove the wax so I was told to go home and soak my ears for a week. However, right after getting home I started hearing loud ringing in my ears, enough to keep me awake at night. I tried calling into the office and the nurse, Nikki, was incredibly rude and curt. I was trying to understand if my symptoms were normal and she cut me off and hung up on me. I had my daughter call to try to get help because my spoken English isn't very good. Instead of offering help, she was immediately defensive and said nothing that was done would have caused the symptoms and that it was mere coincidence. After trying to ask questions to help, it was obvious that Nikki was not looking to help a patient who was genuinely concerned about symptoms they were experiencing after a procedure. I had to check into an urgent care to fix my problems. They were able to remove the wax… painlessly. Nikki told my daughter she would have the doctor call back. My daughter had to ask when that would be and she said she would write a note. We did not receive a call from the the doctors office to follow-up on a patient experiencing symptoms after being in there office. I'm incredibly disappointed in Nikki's behavior towards a patient in need. She was curt, rude, and actively finding ways to not answer any questions or concerns. I would never go back to this office because of how she treats people in need.

I was having severe nose bleeds - and he carterized the blood vessel that was the problem. Very nice man and no complaints from me.

I would NEVER refer anyone. I had a serious sinus infection that was going to require surgery. Had surgery, he pulled packs nxt day, 2 days later was bleeding out nose & mouth. Went to ER they admitted me, then 2 weeks of nightmare started. He let me bleed for a week & 1/2 before he decided to do anything, He said he didn't know what to do with me & 3rd day in hospital said he couldn't keep coming up there to check to see if still bleeding.He finally decided to have carterised by Radiologist & the he went on vacation before it was done. The last packs he put in 1 was coming out, I told him & he told me to shove it back in there. No way was I doing that & it caused me to have another sinus infection. Went in after release from hospital, told him I had another sinus infection, he told me to come back in another month to see if I still had it. What Dr does this?

The way the nurse listen to my concerns and made sure I was comfortable and ok.

Got me in and out really quickly.

Wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable staffs.

Care for my child was excellent.

did great, never a problem with this Dr as I do with some in the St. Francis Community.
