Dr. Jesse Lucinda James, MD

I went to see Dr. Coleman at AF urgent care, and it was horrible. I've had a chronic illness for ten years now so I've seen my share of doctors. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit was unacceptable. Dr. Coleman right off the bat had a terrible bedside manner. She was so dismissive and rude, I kept thinking maybe I knew her somehow and had offended her before. She interrupted me several times, including while I was explaining my chronic illness that she seemed unaware of (guessing she didn't bother to read my chart). She kept saying I was fine even though I was struggling to breathe and haven't been able to speak because of inflammation for nearly a MONTH. The only thing that had helped so far was oral steroids- which I hate taking, but I need my voice to talk to my toddler and especially to make an appointment with a specialist and my GP. Also to breathe, which is kind of important to me, at least. She ignored everything I tried to tell her about my health history,… went against the medication recommendation of my GI doctor for the other symptoms I was having (apparently she didn't like that I knew what he has me take for those symptoms and that he has TOLD me to ask for if I end up in urgent care or the ER). Dr. Coleman also seemed to think I was faking laryngitis and told me "I can hear your whisper just fine, it should be no problem for you to call us." We'll, it WAS a problem, that's why I had to go in. No one has been able to understand me on the phone for over three weeks! They can hardly hear me in person! The visit ended with me having to basically beg for a steroid inhaler in case I wake up unable to breathe again tonight. I ended up not using the antibiotic she called in, (I told her I had just finished augmentin days prior.) I didn't want another random antibiotic chucked at me when the other one hadn't worked. I was also going to tell her I don't tolerate the one she wanted to call in well, but she was so dismissive and rude I was worried she'd send me away without any help so I didn't. In the future, I will definitely ask for another doctor if I'm unfortunate enough to see her at urgent care again. Maybe she was having a bad day? Honestly, she's a professional and should not be taking it out on sick patients - especially chronically ill ones in a flareup. We suffer enough as it is.

Lovely lady. She seems to genuinely care. I appreciated her taking time to sit with me. I know she was really busy when I went in for help and I wanted to let her know it meant a lot to me.

I saw Dr. Coleman for a relatively minor issue, but she took the time for a proper diagnosis, to explain the course of treatment thoroughly, and answer all of my questions. She was warm and friendly to boot.

Dr Coleman is a good doctor. Seems to care. Explains things well. Smart. Would go back for sure.

First off, staff was friendly and organized. Then we got Dr Coleman who was great with my son. He had been sick for a week and I was very worried about him. He has asthma and been hospitalized twice in the past 2 months. I just couldn’t take him back there again. The doctor was quick to see him and was so good with my son. I can tell she has kids. She told me right away he had pneumonia which was making his asthma bad. He’s doing great now. I just couldn’t bear to take him back to the hospital. Thank goodness we got this doctor.

Might of caught her on a bad day but I was there because it was my bad day. Little empathy, lacked explaination for diagnosis, didn’t ask many questions and very abrupt both on the entry and the exit of the room. Awkward at conversation. Left me feeling not understood and that she had something better to do than to address my issues.

Very thorough and caring. Wish she had a private practice. We could tell she really cared about our family.

Rude. Uncaring. Ill-informed. Illogical. I have never in my ENTIRE 34 years of life been treated so badly by a doctor. If you hate your job and the people you took the Hippocratic Oath to serve and treat, then go to work in another field; you are in the wrong one.
