Rushed me through my appointment and did not listen to my concerns. Just gave me a prescription and sent me on my way.

I have been seeing Dr. Carter for years and she is always great. The only problem I have ever had is with the front desk. Never one time have I dealt with a person at the front desk that was not extremely rude, you guys are just the worst.

Dr. Carter is great at calling prescriptions but my family doctor can do that a lot cheaper. No personality and not much of a neurologist. My daughter records were turned over to her without my permission when Dr. Garett retired. It has been nothing but downhill since. I have asked to change doctors and If that does not happen I will take my daughter somewhere else. I have two friends that are going through the same thing with her. One just moved her son to another neurologist.

My daughter was referred to Dr. Carter because of seizures. She was having mini seizures several times a day. On the first visit the ERG was done & it showed seizure activity. My daughter was immediatly diagnosed with epilepsy and put on harsh epileptic seizure medication. And if my daughter reported any further seizures, the answer was raising the dose of medicationS. I am not a doctor, but I know that a seizure showing up on an EEG is not proof of epilepsy. Seizures can be caused by other things. But no further testing was done. I also know that even epileptic seizures come from different parts of the brain, and to really intelligantly medicate for seizures, a doctor should know what part of the brain they are coming from and truly what is causing them. Doctor Carter did nothing but prescribe medication. I finally convinced my daughter to tell Dr. Carter that if she did not order an MRI, I was going to show up in her office and it wouldn’t be pleasant. So, a YEAR later, an… MRI was ordered at my request, and it showed that my daughter had a cavernous malformation. Not epilepsy at all!! On the same day the info from the MRI was reported, my daughter was referred to a brain surgeon at Emery to see what could be done. She met with him two days later and was told that the cavernous malformation could be surgically removed. Surgery is what my daughter needed to resolve her seizures. NOT medication. If Dr. Carter had ordered the MRI the first time she saw my daughter, as is (or should have been) standard operating procedure, my daughter would not still be weaning off of this dangerous medication, which Dr. Carter is not doing well with either. Not to mention the additional year my daughter could have died from having this malformation in her brain. I would advise you to run, don’t walk, away from this doctor. And if seizures are your issue, demand an MRI. I can tell you from experience, It won’t occur to Dr. Carter to do it. She has put my daughters life in jeapordy, and thinks nothing of it. Find a doctor who knows what they’re doing, and who cares about their patient. Dr. Carter does not.

I have been seeing Dr Carter for several years. She is always attentive and seems genuinely concerned about my many health issues. She has helped me tremendously with neck pain by using Botox injections. She’s always upbeat and her staff is awesome...

Just as other's mentioned-her bedside manner is the worst of all! Be careful if she does any type of puncture testing on your body-she jabbed me so hard I nearly.... Also be sure request for your doctor records,that'll truly show if she's within the healthcare circus for real with professionalism tactics. Lastly,the office is always highly busy! Don't expect a phone call for an appt.about your referral.

Not too impressed.

She is useless....no bedside manners & your follow-up will take forever in a days!!!!!

Understanding me...my case. Is so complex. I realize there's hope.

I have been a patient for a year now and have issues with changing meds for grand mal seizures. Since changing meds, I have had 7 seizures in a month and a half, which even when I didnt take my meds like I was supposed to when I was younger and did EVERYTHING I wasn't supposed to I NEVER had that many in that time frame. And now, instead of just 1 or 2 in a day when I have them, they have went to 4 in a row and I end up in the E.R. and when the doctors there try to get ahold of Dr. Carter they can NEVER get ahold of her and when they FINALLY do get a call back all she does is up my meds to the max dose and not even bother with anything else. I was pleased with her at first but now that I want to get back on the meds that worked for me, she said she didn't want to put me back on them so I told her if she didn't do what worked for me then I would go elsewhere and that was all it took for her to see me and do what I wanted....I am seriously thinking about taking my brain to someone who… will work WITH me instead of treating me like a "project".....Good luck with everyone dealing with this problem.
