Dr. Jessica Pryor Hinojosa, DO

I went in for a non urgent hysterectomy, before surgery at pre op in May & on OCT 16TH I told her to stay away from my belly button herina, told her on the 16th that I was getting a referal for the herina mesh because it had been causing me pain for 2-3 weeks, she agreed, she did NOT avoid it like I told her and I ended up almost dying, being rushed back into surgery because I was bleeding out and needed 7 transfusions because she messed with the hernia..RUN!

I’ve read some of the other patient reviews and wanted to weigh in with my own experiences with Dr. Hinojosa and her nurse Audra. While I’ve not seen her for labor and delivery, I have been going to her for several years now for annual exams, issues and even for my hysterectomy so this review is not based on a one time visit. She has always been professional, knowledgeable and very personable. I feel like I can talk to her about any issues I might be having as well just everyday life stuff and she’s listening. I have never felt rushed through a visit with her. This is true of Audra as well. She has always responded to my calls/portal messages etc in a timely manner. A good patient/provider relationship definitely goes both ways. If you have questions ask. If you don’t fully understand the answer, ask for clarification. If you don’t want to be rushed through a visit then don’t be. I highly recommend Dr. Hinojosa. My sister sees her and loves her too!!

Would not recommend going here. I was uncomfortable and felt like I was a burden when I asked her to check if I have endo. This was also just a regular heath check up to make sure everything looked good/healthy. It was so awkward. She right away said I didn't have endo, without having done any inspection. She seemed checked out and was condescending in her responses. At one point, I even asked her if SHE could check ME down there. I've never had to ask a gynecologist to check me or ask to at least make an effort. It was clear she did not want to do anything. Her whole demeanor was just unprofessional and not helpful at all. It was the worst gynecologist experience I've ever had. I've been to many before and everyone has been so sweet, welcoming, and helpful. Got billed such a high amount for her doing absolutely nothing so that's a cherry on top.

I have been to Dr. Hinojosa for my well woman exams 3 times. I am very happy with her. She listens, cares, and addresses any issues I am having. She is very calm and gentle, which speaks volumes to me!! I would highly recommend her!

I started seeing Dr. Hinojosa with my first pregnancy as she was rated in the highest care to cost ratio with my insurance and couldn't be happier with the results. She is a professional, caring doctor who is very knowledgeable. I have chosen to continue seeing her rather than returing to the GYN only I was seeing for women's health before my OB needs.

She may seem great but overall I believe careless, doesn't return any of my phone calls , probably doesnt listen go her voicemail neither.. Nor her "nurses" or whatever. My last appointment I got a metal thing shoved in my vagina and before I could ask any questions "Whoops gotta go deliver a baby!" Well bye... Lmao. Really want to switch providers but dont want to start over everything.

Dr. Hinojasa is amazing! My previous gynecologist did not listen to my needs at all. Long story short I ended up in the ER with Dr. Hinojasa performing my Salpingectomy. Her bedside manner was above and beyond what I expected. I have used her ever since that day. She has been so kind and informative when I have questions about my fertility odds in the future. I would highly recommend Dr. Hinojasa to anyone.

In late 2017 I was diagnosed with 2 conditions, and my primary care doctor sent me to a specialist. Since it wasn’t her, she was mad at me and saying I didn’t have the conditions I was diagnosed and treated for, without even examining me. 3 specialists. All did extensive testing and all 3 diagnosed me with the same thing. She was angry and said I shouldn’t have gone to another person. I also wanted Nexplanon removed from my arm because it started to make me feel suicidal and my mood swings were aweful. My periods became every other week. She got mad and said “well I guess you’re trying to get pregnant then.” I said no, honestly.... she’s one of the worst doctors I’ve been to. She has HORRIBLE bed side manners, and is a very selfish woman.

Definitely agree with previous post that this doctor lacks empathy and compassion. WOULD NOT recommend for first time mothers. Being that this is my first child I have a lot of anxiety about what to expect. Instead of helping to ease my anxiety and build confidence she constantly suggest birthing classes and hospital tours. All of which have nothing to do with the doctor/patient rapport needed to have a successful birth. She never informs me of complications to look for or what to expect at each stage of pregnancy. Each visit consist of weight, blood pressure, fetal heart beat and fundal check then any questions I have. No questions then visit is over. Poor communication and leaves you very uninformed. She practically told me today that if I choose to refuse pytocin she could not deliver my baby. Oh and they may forget your blood pressure every once in a while. They did today. Please heed the warning and find a doctor with better bedside manner.

Dr. Hinojosa and her staff were wonderful! It was my first appointment with her. She was very kind, informative and had a great personality that made me feel comfortable from the very start. The exam was so professionally done; she has that great ability to just flow around you and get everything done quickly. I will definitely keep her as my ob-gyn doc in the future.
