Dr. Jessica Brooke Spiegelman, MD

Agree with other review. She is completely dismissive. Saw her at MFM at 40 weeks pregnant. Worst doctor I’ve seen and I’ve seen most of the doctors at this practice already.

My wife was eight months pregnant when we were referred to her by the staff at NYU Langone, due to my wife being in the "high risk" category. The OBGYN team at NYU Langone has been 100% professional and respectful up to this point. Dr. Spiegelman was neither. Her attitude toward my wife's questions and concerns in this telehealth visit were flippant and dismissive. More than once she laughed at my wife's comments and concerns. My wife addressed matters related to our upcoming birth that were ignored or dismissed by her. Her tone, body language, and dialogue clearly indicated that my wife was no more than a name of a document she barely skimmed before our appointment. It was only when I showed my face and chimed in that she checked her attitude. I'm not one to assume any racial bias, but my wife is black and I am white. But, I can't see how her attitude was anything but racially motivated. Dr. Spiegelman's unethical behavior is unique in our full experience giving birth in this… hospital. To all of my friends and colleagues expecting, I will recommend NYU to all of them, but they will all be strongly advised not to see Dr. Spiegelman for any services whatsoever.
