Dr. Jill Marie Conway, MD

I came to Dr. Conway with neurological symptoms that were similar to MS. Thankfully, upon MRI results, I was relieved to find out that it was not MS. However, once MS was ruled out, Dr. Conway insisted that my symptoms were all in my head. Thankfully, 1.5 years later, a thorough, good doctor discovered the genetic syndrome causing my symptoms. It turns out, it was all in my genes, not my head. If you do not have confirmed, terrible MS, run far, far away. Otherwise, she will belittle you and berate you over and over.

Rude, dismissive, sloppy looking, (not that looks should define care) no beside manner whatsoever. Granted, I was late to my appt. But I’ve seen Dr. Conway a few times and whether on time or not, I’m always made to feel rushed and not heard. She asked me about falls, I told her that I’ve fallen about 4 times in the last month, she stated “if you did actually fall that many times” indicating that I’m lying. Why would I lie about that? I asked about the severe joint pain that I’m experiencing, wondered if it was a side affect of my medication, Ocrevus, Dr. Conway said it’s most likely arthritis, I told her that I have read that a few people on MS forums that also take Ocrevus, are also complaining of joint pain, she suggested that these are people in their 40’s and 50’s and that we all have arthritis. I asked if there’s something that I can do for the pain and lymphatic fluid build up in my ankle as the pain is severe, she suggested compression socks, but she didn’t notice that I… was already wearing one, I had to point that out. Dr. Conway indicated that I’m sitting too much, then I’m standing too much, I should have PT. Well, in my chart she can see that I’ve had PT and I did tell her that I’m doing the exercises that they demonstrated to me, still, no empathy for the pain that I’m experiencing, no suggestions. Always a disappointing experience with this doctor.

Dr. Conway is absolutely fantastic! I used to drive 3.5 hours to see her and now I live in the Charlotte area so it's a much shorter drive. Anyway, she has such a great bedside manner, is extremely thorough, and explains everything so that I can understand what is going on. If there is ever an emergency, she gets me in immediately. She shows so much concern and compassion, that I could never even think of going anywhere else. I am so thankful to have found her.

Jill Conway, "MS Specialist", was the worst doctor I've ever seen. I went in to be screened for MS by my other Neurologists, and within 45 seconds of being in the room she told me my condition was purely psychological. Keep in mind, she's an MS specialist, she has no credibility to diagnose one's overall health... but she does seem to be very arrogant in her position, that if your condition doesn't match her criteria, then it's psychological. Luckily, I did not end my journey with her deadly recommendation, I continued to visit other doctors to get fresh opinions; and through MRI's, EEG's and numerous other tests of multiple specialties, found out my condition was extremely real, easily diagnosed, & extremely serious. Had I taken Jill's advice, It would have been a death-sentence. Keep in mind that celebrated specialists have the tendency to allow that title to fill themselves with pride and arrogance, thinking they can diagnose outside of their field. If a doctor like Jill… Conway doesn't see evidence of MS, then she has the credibility to kindly and honestly explain that. Overstepping those boundaries later proves them to be very foolish in their words when they're diagnosis comes back so very wrong.

My title basically describes it. Had a terrible experience... This doctor was extremely rude and condescending, and was very lazy with investigative work and ideas on where to go from the visit. I would not recommend her.

I was told by ER Doctor and local neurologist that I had all the symptoms and lesions on brain for MS. The spinal tap however was negative. So they referred me to Dr. Conway. It took 4 months to get in to see her. Then students shadowing her did most of the talking. I thought she was rude and no bed side manner. She said she just thinks I am depressed. I am so dissapointed. Feel like I waisted 4 months waiting to see her for nothing. Still falling, bladder accidents, in a fog, things slip out of my hands, feels like rubber bands around my feet, they go to sleep all the time and my right arm is numb and weak. I think I started getting deppression after all of my episodes. Not that d eppression caused them!

I attended a visit with my grown daughter, whom was thought to have MS. This is the first and last time I have met Dr. Conway. I found her to be very arrogant and at some time, just plain out right rude to both of us. She does not have any bedside manners what so ever. Her staff was very courteous and I believe they were embarrassed at the way Dr. Conway talked to us. My daughter refuses to return to see her anymore which means we will need to find a new doctor. My first impression was one of wanting to leave after the first rude remark she made. I would not recommend any of my family or friends to Dr. Conway.

Rude,,NotPreprared,long wait.Did not come across as knowledgeable. Very disappointed. Though the office staff and nurses were nice bottomline is I would not recommend this Doctor.

I have been seen by the Medical University of S.C. in Charleston for several years now. Their MS Speiclist left approx. 3 years ago, but I was assured of great care from top Neurologists. My last 2 visits I saw a nurse practitioner. I am waiting for my next appointment with them, made over a YEAR AGO. Waiting for over a year to see a Nurse Practitioner or general Neurologist doesn't work, so a wait time of 2 months to see an MS Specialist is actually an improvement for me. I was told that if I keep switching doctors I could be accused of 'doctor shopping'. Guilty as charged - I am shopping around for an MS specialist and have not found one yet. I hope Dr. Conway could be that doctor. As I said, anything would be better than what I have had at this point. I will follow up on-line here with more after I actually see Dr. Conway.
