Dr. Jill B. Koury, MD

She misdiagnosed my Mom when she indicated she did not have shingles in her eye. Thankfully, my Mom knew the pain was indicative of something so she went to another MD who diagnosed her right away has having shingles in her eye. Critical drugs were prescribed right away to save her sight. Dr. Koury's account of the visit in the medical record was grossly inaccurate as well. My mother also complained this MD had a horrible bedside manner and was very rushed in the appointment. This MD is not recommended AT ALL.

My Mother's GP suspected she had shingles in her eye. She went to see Dr. Koury who determined she did not, despite the pain she was experiencing in her eye (the shingles were apparent on her face and around her eye). My Mother immediately sought an opinion by a different MD and she was immediately diagnosed with shingles in her eye and prescribed two, much needed medications to save her eyesight. Upon reviewing her records by Dr. Koury, my Mother noticed that she had indicated there were Shingles lesions on her ear and forehead. WRONG!!! There was absolutely nothing on ANY ear and the shingles had affected the entire upper right quadrant of her face, not just her forehead. I would never recommend this MD.

Horrible bedside manner. Explained nothing. Left more confused and upset. Didn’t find out what the problem was but apparently there is one. At least that’s what I gather from the mumbling as she was walking away from me down the hall to lead me to make an appt with a specialist. She didn’t explain anything and barely spent 90 seconds with me. And that was after I asked to see her to have her explain what was happening after she pawned me off on an assistant. But I never got back in a room that exchange took place in a busy hallway.

Disregards patient complaints of symptoms. Condescending. Treats patients as check boxes or part of an assembly line. Doesn't take the time to REALLY listen and assess, in order to make proper diagnosis. She already knows it all so, don't bother telling her what treatments have and haven't worked for you.

Being treated for glaucoma, had cataracts removed and replacement IODs were on the mark, resulting on 20/20 on both eyes. From this limited interactions with the good Dr, her medical performance is 100%.

Although her assistant did a lot of the prep work, Dr. Koury took her time to review my current and previous diagnosis. She advised what I needed to do as follow-up in a professional and courteous manner.

Dr. Koury was extremely dismissive. She did not answer any questions and spent less than 5 minutes doing a less than thorough exam on my eyes. When I told her I had a couple more questions about her "diagnosis" she left the room and was nowhere to be found when I cam out looking for her. She clearly does not have any compassion for her patients.
