Dr. Jimmy Ray Baucum, MD

Dr. Baucum has been my cardiologist for 18 years. He has always spent all the time that I have needed to discuss any issues regarding my care or meds. He is genuinely interested in his patients and cares about them. Best doctor I have ever had. 18 years with the same doc says a lot. I hope I get 18 more!

Two years ago Dr Baucum did a two stent procedure and I bounced back immediately There had been a 98 / blockage After my recent procedure he was the visiting doctor and was very accommodating I have him a diagram and he marked the position of the first two stents and the new one I think timing has something to do with a patients view of a doctor My first procedure was bumped back a spell due to an emergency but since I was already going under I have no recollection of any of it I was awake for this last one done by a different physician I did ask one question during the procedure and was put off Told we'd talk later but when done he left without asking if I had any questions I'm thinking that silence is preferred due to possible distraction A heads up about expectations of the patient might clarify the dos and fonts during procedure

Dr Baucum has been kind, compassionate, and spot on with his diagnosis of my heart and health issues.

Dr. Baucum inserted 2 stents about 7 years ago. I have seen him on return visits since. I find Dr. Baucum to be a very knowledgeable, professional and caring provider. He takes time to answer questions, provide information on medical advances, and discuss general life issues with me as a retired person. I was the administrator of a 52 member surgical faculty in Fla., and as such, feel very confident in my rating of him as a first rate medical provider. I have complete confidence in his medical and personal capabilities to provide me with the highest level of cardiac care. I am completely satisfied with him as a professional medical provider.

RUDE!!!! My husband saw Dr. Baucum recently. He was very unprofessional and rude. THIS WAS HIS FIRST AND LAST APPOINTMENT WITH DR. BAUCUM!!!! A DISGRACE TO HIS PROFESSION!!!!!!

I didn't know anything about Dr. B prior to going in for my 3rd heart stent procedure.He has by far, the worst bedside manner EVER!!Because I had a question about his method of doing the procedure before it taking place he was extreemly put out and showed just how much by saying he would take another patient in for HIS procedure BEFORE me since "I wanted to talk". My wife stopped him and clarified that is exactly what he meant. This after waiting the 2 hrs. during prep time (which we expected). I understand emergency's can arise. In this case it wasn't an emergency . He created extra stress to an already stressful situation. If you're expecting a professional procedure I would not recommend Dr Baucum. After the procedure when my wife tried to talk to him about his behavior, he threw a colleague under bus by stating they had a previous conversation regarding how I liked to talk, so henceforth he didn't want to get tied up in a lengthy conversation???? This was also very unprofessional… in my opinion. How would you feel if you knew your Dr. came in before a procedure with a chip on his shoulder expecting you to be a problem. He also stated I needed to see a Dr about my "anxiety" since I talked thru the whole procedure which made it difficult for him to do his job. I honestly don't remember anyone telling me NOT TO TALK nor do I remember TALKING. I was under some pretty heavy sedation. Enough sedation that it made me nauseaus afterward.I don't generally leave a review about anything except the handwritten review at the hospital that they give you to fill out. Always have had nothing but good things to say.Needless to say, We both are extreemly disappointed in Dr Baucum and his gross treatment of a patient that only wants to be taken care of.A nightmare to go through all this stress un-necessarily.
