Jimmy Katechis, MD

I’ve been to Doctor Katechis a few times now. He used to have a personable girl at the front desk (glasses, curly hair). She’s no longer there and the younger woman now behind the desk (not the friendly older lady) is rude. I didn’t see her greet a single patient while I was there last week. Spent plenty of time texting on her cell phone though. Nobody likes to go to a doctors office. But rudeness shouldn’t be tolerated.

Dr. Katechis has been the doc I've visited for various walk-in reasons over the past few years. The staff is courteous and the wait always seems reasonable and I've felt like I could ask questions about whichever malady and get informed (and non-judgmental) answers. It should be noted I've only taken advantage if the good doc's services for basic check-up type procedures, though, so I can't speak to anything more complicated.

Urgent Medical Care is run by Dr. Jimmy Katechis. How nice to have a medical office in Astoria with Manhattan standards of professionalism. The doctor is educated, explains things fully and had a great manner. Dr. Katechisâ?? staff is wonderful. They are hard-working, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly too. I especially like the phone call reminder the day before appointments. Appointment times are accurate â?? no long waits at all. If you dread blood tests because of tiny veins have no fear â?? they do a first-class job here â?? better than any lab Iâ??ve been to. I can recommend Dr. Katechis for excellent medical treatment and look forward to a long association.
