Dr. Jo Ellen Feugate

I waited 6 months to get in to a rheumatologist (Dr Feugate) and I drove an hour and a half to get there. I found out absolutely nothing! I did find out that some of my symptoms were “just in my head”!!!!! I don’t know why this office keeps her in their team. She is very discouraging and doesn’t listen very well. Or maybe she doesn’t understand her field of work. If you want to waste your time and money by all means feel free to go see her. Otherwise I wd look elsewhere. I will never go back!

The doctor disregards symptoms and doesn’t listen. It’s easier to turn patients away than try to help them. If primary care sent to a specialist, they should be willing to help the patient. Just another bad doctor who doesn’t want to do their job. Maybe she should only get paid when she actually helps the patients she is seeing. That might change her attitude.

Dr. FUGATE does not listen and does not treat patients right. She gave me a diagnosis 4 years ago and bluntly said if I had known the reason you came back, again, I would have refused your referral. She wrote a Tiffy letter to my referring Dr.( On file ) , She did no testing and her advice made my symptoms worse since last October. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR..... I had to give one star to submit, there is no choice.

Each appointment was scheduled for one hour. After ten minutes with the doctor, the nurse would interrupt and say the labs you requested are here, they-rays you were waiting for have arrived or doctor so and so is on the phone. Dr. Feugate would leave the room and the nurse would return with my visit summary an export me out of the office.

I have no complaints regarding Dr Fugate. But I will not be back because of her nurse. A nurse hanging up on my is unacceptable.

Poor bedside manner, very rude. Between my employer & myself my insurance is $1000.00 monthly, when I pay this kind of $ I do not expect to be treated as a drug addict, period, I am NOT an addict! I arrived expecting to find answers to my problems & was tested for hepatitis and when the test came back negative, was told my physical issues were"Just in my head". If she could have proved this to me or taken the time to ensure this was so, I could have accepted her diagnosis. Was not given the time of day. I do understand that Drs have to deal with drug addict issues, probably more than I know but, if said Dr gets to know their patient before applying their opinion, they might find that their opinion was incorrect.

Diagnosing someone with autoimmune is very tricky. I don't feel after 2 years of care I have a clear handle on what I have or how to manage it. My last visit I was told that she doesn't treat back pain when I KNOW that it was autoimmune related.

I've seen Dr. Feugate for 5 years now. I was diagnosed with RA during treatment for breast cancer and she has been wonderful in working with the restrictions that the cancer treatment has placed on options for care. She is now out of network for me but I am continuing to see her (and paying the difference) because things are currently going well and I either haven't heard other good things about many of the rheumatologists in my new network or they are not accepting patients. In fact, in my new network, the only rheumatologist that isn't several miles away does not take new patients.
