I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction and concern regarding Dr. Jo Ann Nishimoto, who oversaw my daughter's case. Our experience with Dr. Nishimoto was deeply troubling and has left us questioning her competence and commitment to patient well-being. Despite my daughter's clear diagnosis of appendicitis, which required immediate surgical intervention due to leakage, Dr. Nishimoto shockingly deemed the surgery care as "Not Medically Necessary." This decision was made without considering the severity of Zoey's condition and the urgent need for timely and appropriate medical attention. It is astonishing that a healthcare professional, especially one entrusted with the well-being of young patients, would exhibit such a blatant disregard for the seriousness of an appendicitis case. Dr. Nishimoto's decision not only jeopardizes children's health but also placed an unnecessary burden on our family during an already distressing time. Moreover, the denial letter we… received from Anthem Blue Cross indicated that Dr. Nishimoto reviewed the case using the MCG guideline called Gastroenterology (GRG: MG-GAS). However, her interpretation of this guideline and her decision-making process clearly demonstrate a lack of understanding or a disregard for the critical nature of appendicitis and its potential complications. Dr. Nishimoto's dismissive approach, combined with her failure to consider the documented evidence of our daughter's condition, raises serious doubts about her qualifications and competence as a medical professional. It is deeply concerning that someone in her position, entrusted with the health and well-being of patients, would make decisions that appear to prioritize cost-saving measures over appropriate and necessary medical care. I strongly advise anyone considering seeking medical care from Dr. Jo Ann Nishimoto to proceed with caution and to thoroughly research and consider alternative options. Based on our experience, it is evident that she lacks the expertise, compassion, and dedication required to provide appropriate medical care, particularly in complex cases like my daughter's. I sincerely hope that this review serves as a warning to others who may be considering entrusting their loved one's health to Dr. Nishimoto and Anthem Blue Cross. It is crucial to prioritize the well-being of patients and to seek out healthcare professionals who demonstrate competence, compassion, and a commitment to providing the best possible care. Jo is a hired gun for Anthem Blue Cross. She recommended denying my request for durable medical equipment following my spinal cord injury. She is a pediatrician with no neurology specialization. Dr. Nishimito is not qualified and appears to compromise her ethics for a dollar. Speaks volumes about her character.
