Dr. Joan Kathy Berman, MD

She came into the room, gave me my exam then told me to wait while she went and did something else. She came back in 15 minutes later and started to get ready to examine me because she literally forgot she just did my exam. I had to remind her she already did my exam. That was concerning. She also said she would probably call me about my tests results, but that if it was negative she may not and to assume it was negative. She does seem to know her stuff, but the forgetfulness and disorganization leaves me worried that serious issues could be left unmonitored or unreported.

Dr. Berman is such an amazing doctor, so personable and so knowledgeable in her field. She always knows how to make me feel comfortable. Her office is small but clean and homey. My wait time with her has always been short. Her staff are friendly professional. I completely recommend Dr. Berman, you won’t be disappointed.

Kind and compassionate. She treats every patient withextra care and patience. Her vast experience really pays off.

I have been seeing Dr Joan Berman as my GYN for many years. My daughters have also seen Dr. Berman . I have found Dr Berman to be professional, knowledgeable and kind at every turn. Her office is responsive and runs very smoothly. Dr. Berman always spends time with me after every exam, in fact I have never felt rushed when meeting with her. I have been a patient of Doctor Berman for the past 25 years. Doctor berman is very humble kind and very comforting at all time. She is very devoted and give her time to me whenever i go see her. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is really the best. I love going to her when i have a problem. She solve it very confidently, and if there is a time that she is unable to take care of it she would give a referral to go to someone else who can, i really love her and i cant thank her for her time.

Ive been a patient for over 4 years. When I changed jobs and she didn’t take my insurance, i asked her to email me my medical records. I got a nasty response and was told I can scan them myself. When I asked her about my most recent test results, she couldn’t give me a clear answer. She got angry that I didn’t want her to perform further testing despite the fact that it would cost me out of pocket $500+ and I thought finding a doctor that takes my insurance made more financial sense. Long story short- I walked out of her office with hard copies of my medical records and about 10 other people’s documents! I had OTHER people’s HIV test results in my own pile of papers! When I called to tell them, she made an excuse that she took other people papers from the printer by mistake. No way-my records were completely mixed with others. It was honestly a blessing in disguise that she doesn’t take my insurance. Nasty woman and completely careless.

Dr Berman understands how to treat her patients making them feel totally comfortable and the most important person ,at that moment. On top of that, her medical expertise plus a very efficient and thoughtful support staff make her practice one I recommend to everyone.

Dr. Joan Berman has been my gynecologist since 1999 and I can’t recommend her more highly. She is extremely caring and truly treats the whole patient. She is very thorough, not only in her examinations but in reviewing my health records, on each visit. She is up on the latest medical research and refers me to specialists who are fantastic. Dr. Berman is patient and always takes the time to answer my questions. For these reasons, I actually enjoy my appointments with her!

I have been a patient of Dr. Berman’s for many years and she has consistently been warm, a good listener and an excellent physician. She has guided me through difficult situations and now through menopause. Highly recommended.

First visit was fine; Dr. Berman was quick to diagnose me and prescribe a topical cream. I tried to use it and but repeatedly reported to Dr. Berman that it increased my pain. She was annoyed. Finally, after a month of worsening pain, she examined me again, and completely changed her diagnosis without acknowledging her error. She dismissed my pain ("It won't change your life," she said, while I was having difficulty walking, sitting, sleeping) and mocked my fear and desperation. She referred me to a different specialist.
