Dr. Joan Rebecca Golub, MD

Left the office over 3 years ago because of extreme disorganization. Received a bill nearly THREE YEARS from date of service. When I called the office to understand what the bill was for the receptionist and office manager were combative and refused to give details without paying for my records. Save yourself the stress and hassle and find a more competent office with better customer service run by actual professionals.

I had a horrific experience at this office. In the middle of my exam as I am lying naked on a table Dr. Golib left me to go answer a phone call for 20 minutes. She came back only to say that she was incapable of completing my exam and stated that she needed to book me an appointment for one week later with a sonogram tech at a different location. She also sent me out to a different location to get blood work done. After my week later sonogram appointment she wanted me to come back to her for blood test results.... Which she didn't have. With my $50 copay it ended up costing me $200 for just a pap and check up and the woman would only prescribe me 3 months of birth control and told me I had to come back again get the rest of the year prescription. This is lunacy and a complete abomination to all practicing gynecologists. The office was dirty and unwelcoming.

I cannot believe these reviews I am reading are about the same MD....I have been a longtime patient of Dr. Golub & know for a fact she has saved my life and has gone out of her way to help my mother & especially my daughter who recently went through a life threatening experience with the delivery of her 1st baby this yr. Dr. Golub has always made us feel like a member of her own family. I find her assistant Linda to be kind & considerate to one's needs as well. Never had a negative experience. Yes, the wait is sometimes long but she is a busy MD & this proves that she takes her time when examining her patients..I have never felt rushed....

Dr. Golub is an amazing Dr. , She is also a wonderful and caring person. She's smart, witty, and makes the visit a pleasant one. I highly recommend her. She's also right on diagnosis and prevention if possible. Love her!

I am very dissatisfied with my experience at the office. I decided my one visit was enough because I did not like the very impolite and gruff manner of the office manager, the office was musty and smelly, and I felt uncomfortable with the bedside manner of the doctor. The doctor used slang terminology to describe things that you discuss during an ob/gyn visit, which I found bizarre and strange. I am paying seemingly endless bills from my one visit, and I don't even know the results of my tests (because I did not go in for the follow up, but this is still very frustrating), now up to $130 for one visit (and my insurance has paid almost $1000!!). I called to express my dissatisfaction with the doctor, and my hope to relieve this last final bill, but she did not offer to ameliorate my situation at all. This is why I'm here to let you know about it. I cannot believe that these other reviewers actually went to the same doctor and doctor's office. AVOID!!!!

This is a rude doctor, very curt and short when speaking. Has no bedside manner. No compassion only agitation. I feel sorry for her other patients. Office staff is also rude to patients.

I would recommend to stay away from this OB/GYN if you do not want to have unnecessary sergeries, endless unnecessary test, etc, and if you prefer to learn about your simple test result from a letter or phone call instead of going to and paying for an appointment that would last 3 min.

I was a patient of Dr. Golub's many years ago. She was unbelievably kind, compassionate and probably saved my life.I think of her often as I never, in my opinion, would have the two beautiful children I have now, if it weren't for Dr. Golub. Thank you.

Dr Golub was the most digilent of all gyns I have seen over many years. I had just moved here and set up an appointment with her office. Dr. Golub performed a full range of tests, and has caught a big problem in time. I am convinced I was very fortunate to find her. She does all the appointments and tests herself, and is willing to take time to convince you to get procedures you may not want to get done and explains why.

Unfortunately, I have been to many gynos in the past due to the various medical issues I have had, and this office has been by far the worst experience. The receptionists are very snappy in person and rude on the phone. I'm not sure if it's because I'm young (I'm 21) but they treat me like I am not worth their time. Dr. Golub is to the point and very fast with her appointments, which is not always a good thing. I was only waiting 5 minutes in the waiting room but then had to wait an addition 40 minutes in the room with nothing on but a gown, then examined me in under 5 minutes. I have been going to her for two years and every time it's the same thing. I'm finally better "down there" so I will be permanently switching my doctor now that I have a clean bill of health (thanks to the other doctors I have seen).I would not recommend going to her. There are plenty of other doctors in Boston that will treat you better.
