Dr. Joanne Hilary Halbrecht, MD

Since my retirement, I take time to review info on m past Doctors as well as current ones. I noticed a poor review and wanted to voice my personal experiences as well as ALL OF THE PATIENTS that I have refered to her. Dr. Halbrecht has done many procedures on my knees, and suggested 2 knee replacements as well. At Porter Hospital, the entire staff refers to her as "The Best of the Best". Recently, she insisted that I get rehab on my shoulder instead of surgery-she was correct again, of course. Her attention to detail and personal attention to my issues are astounding and productive for my health as well as ALL OF THE PEOPLE I have refered to her. I'm especially impressed with her reluctance to perform surgery-she tried everything first and then uses surgery as a last option. Having played Football for the NFL as well as a major University, I'm sorry to report that I've seen most everything. Dr. Halbrecht is the most qualified in her field, quick to refer to other Docs in an effort… to gain the optimum results, and is confident-but, listens closely to formulate an optimum direction. Frankly, reading a recent review from someone leads me to question the motives of it based on the many, many people that I know with STELLAR reviews-even though they may not have written notes.

Have taken my entire family (8 people!) to see Dr Halbrecht. Always professional and she sees us quickly and takes the time to fully evaluate the concern

This is my honest experience and perceptions/opinions related to that experience. Dr. Halbrecht performed an ACL revision on my knee, 8 mos. post op. a screw tip 16mm long was found in my knee joint. Dr. H. was defensive, stating that it could not possibly be her screw. After removal by another surgeon it was apparent that is was a tibial screw placed by Dr. H. She was unprofessional, overly confident and she lied to us when reviewing the MRI.

Joanne was fantastic. She really knows what she is doing and made the whole process easy and my recovery was fast and I am 100%! I have referred a lot of people to Dr. Halbrecht and will continue to do so.

I had an appointment yesterday ( after many doctor's appointments and physical therapy) in Scottsdale, and Boulder my bursitis in my knee is not any better and Dr Halbrecht took her time reviewed my Mri, and notes and in my research she is making the right decision to take it out.Over 4 years of swelling and pain will be I hope pain free.

Thank you Dr. Joanne Halbrecht for your time and expertise! She is fast, efficient, professional and to the point. My husband saw her years back for a slap tear that eventually needed surgery- we had a great experience then and we had a great experience now. I would recommend anyone who has shoulder trouble to see her. She has a very conservative approach and won't rush to operate if not completely necessary and is very open about exploring other therapies before surgery. All the best to you!

This is by far the easiest shoulder surgery I've had (3rd on same shoulder). Minimal pain/discomfort; the nerve block was a life saver and I believe it helped speed up my body's healing due to less stress and pain. While I'm not planning to ever go through another shoulder surgery, if I do it'll be with Dr. Halbrecht - she rocks!

Dr Halbrecht seemed more interested in selling me her special glucosamine supplements, which she claimed would "heal my cartilage" than treating my injury.

Two surgeries now and I had to visit a top surgeon in Denver to find the Infraspinatus tear she missed twice. A year of misery for what? I have to do another surgery and PT now. I don't know where all the good rating come from I would never go there again. Maybe she should find better radiology partners?
