Jocelyn Jones

My clinical approaches include Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy. I also provide Spiritual Direction/Spiritual Formation.

I have over 12 years of experience working in the mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse field. I have a Doctorate in Professional Counseling, with a specialization in trauma, grief, and loss. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in counseling, and a Master of Arts degree with a Theology concentration. I have licenses for LPC (licensed professional counselor), LCDC (licensed chemical dependency counselor), and MAC (Masters Addictions Counselor); certifications include Spiritual Direction, and Certified Anger Management Specialist, II (CAMS II).

I work with adolescents, the adult and geriatric community; my specialty in counseling consists of anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, Spirituality; bereavement; grief …and loss, isolation, loneliness; career counseling, alcohol/drug abuse, mood disorders, personality disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders; anger management; motivational interviewing; low self-esteem, self-confidence, assertiveness; life changes; financial/budgeting; effective communication skills; coping skills, decision-making, problem-solving, individual and group counseling. I also provide counseling/education in HIV/AIDS, STD/STI, and physical/medical-related issues.
