Dr. Joe Foon Lau, MD

Dr. Joe Lau has crossed the line in it's entirety. He needs to be disciplined for slander and lack of professionalism. I went in for my appointment as I am having extreme inguinal nodes appearing and nodules after being vaccinated  and they keep on growing. I asked him to send my diagnosis to my PCP and include that it's a loose connective tissue disorder and autoimmune so that other doctors understand of how everything is connected and he declined to add that into my diagnosis and had declined of reading the standard of care for lipedema in the USA, it is a peer-to-peer reviewed publication to explain this poorly misunderstood disease. For no reason at all he engaged in slander telling me that I had a problem with DR. Hirsh and Galmer what just happened? I never had a problem with any of them and Dr. Hirsh is GOLDEN an exceptional doctor, it is thanks to him that I have a diagnosis. Joe Lau has an ego problem and needs to be reported to the ethics committee for slander and neglect of… care to the patient. If he's too myopic to discuss my concerns as a patient and does not care to help bc the inguinal nodes are growing hard core, and he had zero interest in what the vaccine has done to me and said it has nothing to do with it.

Smart -- Not only well-trained, well-educated smart but also brainy smart. Judicious and independent minded. You're as safe in his hands as you can be in the hands of any medical provider. Why? Not only does he know what's going on and is abreast with best practices but also because he's an open minded skeptic alert to the possibility that some beliefs and procedures in medicine may have been insufficiently tested or may have important draw backs you may have to consider. Dr Lau has done his own share of research and I hope he will continue making a name for himself as a smart, rigorous and honest researcher. Besides that, he thinks and acts like a real and humane person. Morale at his offices (bothat LIJ and in Manhasset) is very good and I've had no unpleasantnesses with scheduling, billing, test referrals, etc. But LIJ is generally a bit clumsy. They try very hard and everybody on the LIJ campus --parking attendants, clerical staff, medical technicians, nurses-- and the… people at subsidiary offices behave with heart, helpfulness, and expertise. They're constantly conducting self-evaluations. But the complex is large and unwieldy -- It's been around for a long time and it has had to add on services and physical facilities as the need and possibility for them arose. So things are placed somewhat haphazardly. It serves a very large and very diverse clientele and treats us with respect. If you don't feel like you're at a five-star snooty resort when you go there, remember that you are at what should be a five-star HOSPITAL and the treatment you'll get there will be as good as any in the world.

Great doctor--highly recommend Dr. Lau to anyone. They just don't make smart AND compassionate doctors like him anymore.
