Dr. Joe Paul Merritt, MD

Delivered both of my children with no problems. Provided great care throughout entire pregnancy and really took the time to explain things. Extremely intelligent and it shows by the way he cares for patients. He isn't one to listen to whining or complaining and he won't try to do a bunch of crazy stuff like inducing on your due date. Seems to really understand that nature is in charge and he shouldn't interfere unless he has to. If you want a good doctor that will make sure your babies are healthy, Dr. Merritt is the one for you. Now if you want a doctor to cater to you and force your baby out of the womb before your due date, i would say go see one of the OB quacks in town, you won't like Dr. Merritt.

My sister went to the hostpital 3 or 4 times before he wanted to even keep her he always told them to give her a sleeping pill and send her home. When he did keep her the babys heart rate kept dropping and he insisted that we wait it out even the nurse was frustrated. at about 10:15 pm when her blood pressure dropped and the babys heart rate dropped he did a c-section. not to mention before he decided he just pulled the blanket back with out letting her know what he was doing to check her cervix. He told my sister she lost alot of blood after she was rushed to the er for a bad kidney infection that she mentioned at her follow up appointment it started off as a UTI. as a result of that she had 2 pints of blood given to her. Now im almost a week over due and he still refuses to induce me. Im more than likely going to be a drop in at another hostpital. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE LET ALONE USE HIM EVER AGAIN!! HE DOES NOT LISTEN TO HIS PATIENTS!!!
