Dr. Joel Michael Corwin, MD

He does not put forth the effort to explain your condition. He only says the bare minimum necessary, and then it is goodby and see you in 6 months. No bedside manner whatsoever. Avoid.

Thanks to Dr. Corwin I lost my sight in one eye! Never even said I am sorry!

I had a horrible experience as a patient of Dr. Corwin. I am now blind in one eye as a result of unsanitary conditions while receiving an injection for macular degeneration and Dr. Corwin is to blame.

He disagreed with the diagnosis of his colleague. Gave me a contradictory and dissenting opinion. Insisted that I receive an eye injection on the spot. When I asked to have 24 hours to consider, he said that if I left the office "it will be the last time you see me". He was certainly right in that regard

As a patient for many years, I was told that my catAracts could not be operated on. Desperate I went to see a doctor who did cataract surgery, no problem said the other doctor ! Thank God I did.

My daughter saw a different doctor for her "lazy eye" and poor vision, and we were not happy w/ the treatment. When we visited Dr. Corwin, we were relieved to have a Doctor we could trust and the treatment that improved my daughter's vision dramatically, basically saved her eyes. Thank you!

Their offices are so poorly managed as to be health threatening. I waited 3-months for my first appointment. Then waited 1.5 hours to see the doctor (re glaucoma and cataracts). He was fine, I have no complaint with any of their doctors. But, then the first doc said I must see their Retinologist for an "epiretinal fold" which can cause sudden blindness. Okay. Their Reception said no available appointments for a month (for something that can "suddenly cause blindness")! - I arrived on time. More than 60 people waiting. I asked how long I'd have to wait for my "appointment." She glibly replied, "At least 1.5 hours, maybe three hours." Never got to see the doctor. Referred from their Ventura office to Camarillo. Started process over from zero. Waited 2-months for an appointment. Arrive and wait 2-hours and was told, "Sorry, in order for the doctor to check your cataracts you must have a recent refraction." Then I waited a month for that appointment. That appointment went fine. Waited… another month to see Miramar doctor re Epiretinal issue, et al, Waited in office over an hour. Doctor tells me they "can't find my chart and don't have my 'refraction records' and so he can't examine or diagnose."I WAITED NINE MONTHS ALTOGETHER FOR AN EXAM FOR SOMETHING THAT COULD CAUSE BLINDNESS AND GOT NOWHERE. IF I COULD GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR, I WOULD. THE INCOMPETENCE & NEGLIGENCE OF MIRAMAR OFFICE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT IS ALARMING!!

Great doctor that spends time with his patients. Great bedside manner and helped me and my mother greatly.

This doctor had the compassion of a rock. It became apparent very quickly that this is strictly a business to Dr. Corwin and patient care comes last. After my injection my eyes improved for a very short period time, but have progressively gotten worse. I'll be seeking treatment from another doctor.
