Joel Gellman, MD

My wife & I recently had our first appointments for check-ups with Dr. Gellman, following the retirement of Dr. Zachariah. Dr. Gellman's office is clean, well-maintained, and staffed with friendly & helpful people. After a quick intake session with his nurse, and a short wait, Dr.Gellman arrived to our exam room. He's very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. He did not rush. He made positive rx recommendations with logical explanations. Highly recommend!

Subsequent contact with the office initiated by them revealed that despite the staff being very pleasant, the office's right hand doesn't seem to know what the left hand is doing while trying to walk on two left feet and chew gum at the same time. Couldn't get them to return my call despite their initial message to me to call "at my earliest convenience." Different people provided different information. And "compassionate doctor"? I'm not so sure. My impression was he makes a snap judgment about whether you are worthy of his "compassion". Accurate assessment and diagnosis remains to be seen.

Hmm. Should've paid more attention to the negative reviews. He's the only doctor I've ever been to that I got the impression he was just doing his job. And yes, he takes calls during your visit. Didn't really bother me, but it's not really very respectful or professional either. I thought the staff was very pleasant, responsive.and efficient. Oh, and I took a star off because he looks and talks like Bob Hoskins.

Talks to you not at you

You are in good and competent hands. it worth every ounce of effort if you have to see him. He is one of the best.

It is scary dealing with this office. Calls are never returned. This is not just a cold we are talking about---it could be a potential cardiac arrest. The doctor is knowledgeable but really pays little attention to the PERSON. All I experienced was his looking at his computer and his notes. I need to look elsewhere-pronto!

Saved n my life

this dr was texting messages to another party during visit. he also took phone calls without excusing himself. pretty appalling for a professional that you are paying good money to for quality care. we are quite surprised

administative staff inefficient and unreliable in record keeping and follow-up. Lackadaisical.

Horrible service! This Dr. doesn't care about you. He seldom speak, it is a machine ( a bad one) Horrible service from his personal. They never answer a call. I did a test in his Lab because he wanted the money ( instead to doing in the hospital that is cheaper...) I wait many days for results, nobody call me. His assistant ( Alexis?) seems to be a phantom, never return my calls. Horrible service. PLEASE AVOID HIM !!!!!!!!!!!
