Dr. Joel Kizner, MD

Demeaning experience. I came in because I have been experiencing horrible menstraul cycles for almost a year since I received my 2nd Covid Vaccine. I am not antivax however need to know whats going on. I was scheduled I think incorrectly but the staff fixed it as a well woman visit which is fine. Once with Dr Kizner, was immediately dismissed of concerns regarding the shot, so I shut down. Went ahead with the exam and was told to undress like normal from waist down. I have never been in the room with a Dr doing a pap for any legnth of time so thought that was odd, but a nurse finally joined us. Wasnt very gentle but figured it was due to this being my first in 3 years. Then Dr Kizner gets up and next thing I know hes pulling my shirt and bra up over my breast like we were in a car making out or something. 45 years old that has never happened. The nurse saw the shock on my face and explained as hes doing the breast exam. He finally jumps in and mutters something. Sent for testing… was not prepared for at all. I knew it was a pelvic ultrasound but didnt find out until half way through that there is another part where they are actually putting something in you to take images. And what are you going to say? No. Your right in the middle of the exam. The center I had the ultrasound done at called to check on me after and apparently Dr. Kizner is who was supposed to explain that? Fast forward to today, I finally had a moment to set up an account with Dr. Kizners office, and find out that I have a cysts that he never mentioned when he called to go over the results? Thats scary. How do you miss that? Im not a doctor but I can read as Im sure by now he can. I can understand Dr Kizner is a bit quirky but that is no excuse not to do your job. Especially if you do your part. I sat through that awful exam that was very uncomfortable to have information witheld? This makes no sense and this is not ok. This experience is recent and in trying to figure out why I was treated this way, I realized the why doesnt matter. As women, being dismissed is normal, especially women of color. But to specialize in the field of women and be dismissed, demeaned and have important information about your health withheld is not ok. So no, I do not recommend.

I would go back ! He delivered my child I was happy with everything I never had a complaint he explained everything to me and did his best to make me feel comfortable.his staff is very nice and friendly they always remember you Dr KIzner is very good at what he does I had a doctor already when I got pregnant but my sister told me how good Dr kizner was and I moved over to him and ever since I recommend people to go to him .

This Dr. is kinda quiet and reserved, BUT he is very good at making you comfortable, and getting you in and out. He takes his time to discuss things with you. I would def. recommend him!! He get an A+ from Me =)

Dr. Kizner really means well and seems to want to be a good doctor for his patients. However, I personally get the feeling that I am 'bothering' him even when I am there for an annual exam. He doesn't talk to me while he's doing any procedures. It may just be 'his way' and his personality, but I don't seem to mesh well with him. I am in peri-menopause and he hasn't really talked to me about options and has actually scared me by some of the things he's said...i.e., irregular bleeding could be uterine cancer, etc...instead of scaring me like that, why don't we do some testing first and then you can tell me instead of being so frank up front. I'm not looking for my doctor to be my buddy or my friend, but I do wish that I didn't feel like he was in a hurry to get to his next patient. I also wish that he would explain options to me so that I could make better, more informed decisions. I will be finding a different doctor...I've tried for several years to get into 'his groove', but I… just think it's better that I find another doctor. On a positive note, I will say that his staff is friendly and have a good sense of humor.

I really enjoyed seeing Dr. Kizner for my pre-natal visits while pregnant with my son. I especially like his low C-section rate and the fact that he was always willing to listen and answer all my questions thoroughly.
