Dr. Joel Martin Shavell

In my opinion, he is a joke. Before I even sat down and before he had my records, he had his mind made up and told me I should get a third opinion. My dermatologist, prev rheumatologist, current Dr. Office that has several different rhematoligsts that have reviewed my records that all agree with my condition, I was in a drug study for patients with lupus for more than 14 months, I had lab results from a skin biopsy that said lupus or rowels syndrome, plus other labs that were accepable to get me in a drug study, and he still says there is no problem with my skin rash or my health... It is not lupus per this Dr. All of my pain and discomfort are not enough for me to miss work. He does IME's. He's rude and not worth risking your health with this office.

Does not care about his patients, makes it a point to let you know that the only reason he is seeing you is to maintain his lifestyle. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR.

DO NOT see this man if you value your health. He does not think spending time with his patients is a good use of his resources. He will likely tell you that any pain you feel is all in your head. He is way more concerned about himself rather than his patients.

doctor was not focused on medical care. took several personal phone calls during the appointment. wrote down wrong information than what patient said. antagonistic attitude towards patient. late in seeing patient due to personal problems with no apology. poor bedside manner with no information on medical care.

just plain out cold hearted

Poor bedside manner, cold, impersonal. Evident that he is only interested in giving the disability insurance companies what they want; not in patient care. My B/P was at second stage hypertension, (not what I was seeing him for); at no time did he advise me to see my personal physician, nor appear concerned. Did no diagnostic tests on his own. Based his 'opinion' solely on visual observation, with limited patient interaction. Seemed more interested in talking about himself...

Do not go to this dr. not only was he uncompassionate, cold, rude, unprofessional, but asked inappropriate and irrelevant questions as well. Refused to listen to me. I went to Cleveland Clinic and they found numerous problems, yet this quack said there was nothing wrong!

This physician has a total lack of professionalism. Poor diagnostic ability; is not at all thorough and is not objective in his assessment of patient's disease. Asks few questions and doesn't listen to answers. Additionally, with an empty waiting room & no other patient within, wait time was an hour.
