Dr. John James Aylward, MD

I appreciated that he looked at me and not at his computer to issue more tests or fill out his chart that so often rules their world. He is knowledgeable, and caring and tries his best to figure out the problem with common sense.

Excellent doctor and practice

I sought Dr. Aylward's medical attention after suffering from acute anxiety and sleeplessness while going through a very painful divorce. He initially prescribed antidepressant and antianxiety medications to which I had mood changes and other adverse reactions to. These medications made my already poor mental state worse. Upon a follow up visit, I asked the doctor to please substitute the antianxiety medication with a different medication at a lower dosage. I also felt that the antidepressant was not right for me, described my symptoms and said I no longer wished to take it as I really felt my depression was temporary and my anxiety was the real issue. His response: drink more. Yes, rather than to help me, this madman told me I should drink alcohol to ease my pain and that I should stop fighting for my marriage, home and children--leave it all behind and just drink! I was told to stay on my current antianxiety medication to which I was suffering adverse reaction and was told to drink… heavily! A lesser man might have just gone home and committed suicide! Instead, I will be seeking to have this madman's medical license revoked! If he felt medication was not the answer, I would have been fine with that--but to direct me towards alcoholism and provide me with misguided martial advice is truly against safe medical practice and ethical treatment of a patient! Do not trust this man!

I had not been to a doctor in years when I saw Dr Aylward ... I hadn't been able to find a Dr who could live up to my expectations set by my childhood family Dr. When I walked into Dr. Aylward'd office, I immediately felt at home. His office is located on the first floor of an older house, but don't be fooled by the setting -- he's not just a "small town doctor". Even though I wasn't one of his patients he had seen grow.up and known my whole life, he made me feel like that was the case. He didn't try to get me in and out the door like most doctors I've been to have done. He sat with me and got to know me, my history, everything. He's an extremely intelligent and caring doctor, and you can tell he's doing what he loves to do -- care for people in his community. I recommend everyone I know to Dr. Aylward He's the last of a dying breed of great internal medicine doctors who really know what they're doing.

You will not find a better doctor anywhere. He really shares his knowlage with compassion and understanding. He's never talks down or puts himself at a higher level then you. He takes his time with you and that can lead to some time in the wating room-He's worth the wait!
