Dr. Baker is a psychologist whose specialty lies in "generic" mental health problems. So if that's what you're looking for help with, you'll likely be OK. The secretary was very nice, and it's great that everything is done through the online portal for convenience. A couple of days before my appointment, the doctor himself called and left a lengthy voicemail saying he'd call me the next day to discuss a referral out. I left a message with the answering service that went unreturned, and the doctor did not call the next day. The following day, I called the answering service again and the doctor did return that call to say he'd reviewed my paperwork and felt I needed a more experienced practitioner. That's fine. I certainly respect when a provider knows his or her limitations because many do not, but the problem was that he could not (or would not) provide an actual referral. He stated that since he's only been in practice a few years, he didn't know many psychologists. Being told to go… online and just browse through a generic list of providers is not helpful. There's a whole practice in the office. He couldn't ask a colleague for a suggestion? So, all in all, the experience was rather frustrating, and the seeming lack of resourcefulness was definitely an indicator that we wouldn't have been compatible anyway.
