Dr. John Christopher Bauer, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr. Bauer for several years. My impression is that he has above average knowledge, experience and training. Some have complained about staff and waiting times. Since the staff aren’t directly his, this is unfair. Nor can he spend much time with each patient and still have short wait times. Even so, I’ve never had problems with staff attitudes or wait times. He has been accused by some of arrogance. Though I don’t necessarily agree, I can understand this opinion. Though he listens, he engages in little return conversation. Though interested in the primary complaint, he avoids discussing anything not urgent. He will check to see you’ve had recommended tests and injections, but has very limited interest in objections to receiving them. He’s very much down to business. It would be unfair to say this means he doesn’t care, but he does seem very impersonal rather than warm and caring. Overall, I find him difficult to talk and relate to. While I’m not surprised that some… people intensely dislike an impersonal style, I’m also not surprised that others very much prefer it. It’s why I gave him a middle of the road score. If you’re looking for a primary care physician, I do recommend trying him at least once before deciding against him. I have no doubt that he’s a perfect match for some people and not others.

This doctor listens to the patient, takes time to go through the details, and is not rushed. He is very knowledgeable and I feel he has a personal interest in my health

I was with Dr Bauer for several years. I don't think he is very competent. I also think he does his referrals based upon drumming up business for his doctor friends. He will say they are the best, but they are far from it. After several bad experiences, I switched to another doctor in town. What a difference. Not like Dr Bauer at all. So nice and listens so well. Dr Bauer knows it all. Talks down to his patients. I can't believe I stayed with him so long. I guess it takes a lot to make a person change old habits. Even Dr Bauer's nurse practicioners are not any good. Probably a reflection of the coaching, direction and brow-beating they receive from Dr Bauer. If you are considering him, or this practice....don't. Wait times are terrible. Nevery less than 45 minutes late. Sometimes 2 hours late. What a way to run a business. Good luck.

If you want an arrogant doctor who knows it all and doesn't listen to his patients then this is the doctor for you he just another pill pushing incompetent doctor in the system

Dr. Bauer is a great doctor. He takes the time to listen to you. He is great with children. I would recommend everyone to go to him.
