very kind dr. knows what his doing, he helps my daughter to recover, and He cares about his patients. and keeps following with us till now

This doctor was mean, dismissive and not helpful. Had absolutely no bedside manner and apparently no training with children. What a waste of time

This doctor is rude unhelpful most arrogant human I ever seen. He doesn’t have a human soul in his body. He used to work for a different hospital I forgot the name and now he works at queens hospital. He must have gotten fired from the others

John Blanco meets teenage girls on a website called “Omegle” and sexts with them on kik and snapchat. This is not fake unless it is another person with the name John Blanco who lives in New York City. If that is the case I truly apologize.

i came to visit dr. Blanco for my 11 year old daughter for her scoliosis after i saw his beautiful video in the internet about helping kids.the video is way opposite from his rude reality.During his conversation with us he mentioned that my daughter feet braces cost 3000 which we ( parents did not pay because we have medicaid) but somebody else is paying for it. This shows how racist and stereotype he is . He also damaged my doctor psychologically by his inhuman analysis.His assistant ( the practical nurse is the shadow of his rudeness. He diagnosed my daughter with unnecessary arrogance and conceit. I would never recommend this doctor.

Despite HSS service overall was great, the doctor failed to help us. After discussing our case to different HSS specialists we got advised to see Dr. Blanco. My son runs using the base of the foot (sole), not the base and front (toes) and his foot looks to be flat. He is in a soccer team and is looking to improve because runs for few mins and gets exhausted so we agree so see an specialist for advise. Dr Blanco came saw us for I guess no more than 5 mins. Dr asked my son to walk and run in the corridor, he came back confirming he has flat (flexible) foot and that I should buy sneakers with arch support. He said that the real problem was me trying to get more out of my son, and that not all people is born to be Michael Jordan. I didnt get offended but I told doctor is my son the one looking to improve I will be fine with whatever exercise he chooses. Long story short, we got not recommendation of how to really improve my son's foot. I google it and got more advises than the close to… four hundred dollars charged to the insurance. We got the confirmation of the flat feet issue but I also felt empty handled leaving his office.

I have been seeing Dr.Blanco for a number of years, and my experience with him has gotten progressively worse. About 6 years ago when we first saw him for scoliosis he seemed to be very knowledgable. He explained the history of treatment and answered our questions. Our experience was OK(yet not great) for about a year or two. Then when a new brace was needed he sent us to an orthatist who made it opposite to how it should have been. When my child spoke up multiple times and said that it was clearly wrong he denied it and said that my child did not know how it was supposed to be. When my child refused to wear it and we went back he admitted to it being wrong. Later when a new brace was needed he sent us to a different orthatist and told us that the previous one was bad and had been fired(which he knew all along but never sent us to some one else). Fast foward to the past 2 years, we began questioning the lenghth of treatment and if there were alternative or supplementary… treatments. He said there was ZERO evidence of alternatives to bracing and surgery that worked . We decided to do our own research and found what he said to be HEAVILY DISPUTED. When we spoke to other proffesionals they said that Dr.Blanco has been very stubborn when it comes to accepting alternative methods, and therefore does not recommend them. In conclusion we realized that if you are looking for a doctor who will listen to, and respect the patient, keeps up with new research, and only has your best interest in mind DR.BLANCO IS NOT THE ONE TO GO TO. When you think about it he is a surgeon---- that is his job. He looks to do surgeries and keeps patients as long as possible for their money making potential. His exceptionally poor bedside manner has caused a lot of hardship during this process and we wish we had done more research. Please DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE WE DID and FIND SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR WELLBEING.

What a total disappoint this man was. He was insulting from the start., telling my 10 year old daughter that she had a "bad attitude" because he didn't approve I guess of the question she asked him. She looked at me and her face dropped when he said that. She felt so bad and asked me what she did wrong. What a shame. He was dismissive, obnoxious, pig headed and out right rude. I was shocked. My daughter saw another doctor and got the results that was expected from a kind, professional and knowledgeable man. Don't even consider using this guy for a second opinion.

Dr. Blanco is Amazing! He is kind, courteous, knowledgeable, experienced, pleasant.

Extremely honest & answers every single question. Have been taking my daughter to him for the past 3 years for her scoliosis & wouldn't think about going anywhere else. Excellent & caring doctor.
