Dr. John James Brannan, MD

This guy made me miss two consecutive physical therapy appointments because he couldn't just throw his signature on a prescription and have his staff fax it over.

I had three visits with Dr. Brannan and the first one should have told me that he was not overly concerned with my symptoms. He was short and to the point without taking the time to understand how this awful pain was making me feel physically and mentally. Although my MRI was not alarming, it did show a small degree of degeneration due to age and a narrowing of a vertebrae causing inflammation. Injections must be a lucrative solution and I was hopeful this would help. It did not. What put me over the edge was the day of my injection as I entered the room to lay down while the nurse was preparing me. I waited for Dr. Brannan to acknowledge me, and quickly realized that this was not going to happen. Realizing that he apparently had no intention of saying hello Mrs. so and so, I decided to engage him, which I did by saying good afternoon, how are you Dr. Brannan. In lieu of any small talk, he asked where he was injecting me. Seriously? It was done and over, and he gave me a piece of… paper stating when to follow up. At no time did he offer any suggestions for dealing with pain, possible exercises, etc. Two weeks later I called to schedule my follow up, and asked to see another doctor explaining that I wasn't too pleased with Dr. Brannan's "bedside manner". I was told, no problem, we'll send this down to his office and someone will call you back. I heard nothing for two days, and proceeded to call and spoke to yet another person. I inquired if I had did something wrong or unethical as no one had called me back. Once again, I explained that I had wanted to schedule my follow up with a different doctor. She understood and agreed with me while seeming apologetic. Again, I heard nothing back. I am still in pain, very distraught, and cannot believe that this establishment would be so inconsiderate and uncaring as to not return a call and schedule me. Shame on them!

I had two appointments (2018 & 2019) with Dr. John Brannan to address a spinal injury, after being referred to him by two other doctors in his practice, Beacon Orthopaedics. During the first visit he offered the treatment of steroid spinal injections. He was incredibly short with me, and did not take any time to discuss the daily difficulties I was having. Additionally, he did not offer me any prescription medications to help treat my pain or any other symptoms of my injury. I decided against the steroid injections, and made another appointment to discuss other options. During the second visit he spent a total of three minutes with me. He offered me the steroids again, which I had already declined (the reason for my visit), told me my injury was not severe enough for surgery (which I had already been told by multiple other doctors) but offered for me to speak to a spinal surgeon, and then told me to call in a month if I was still having pain. Dr. John Brannan does not care about my… pain, my inability to perform the necessary physical labor in my daily life, my desire to manage my pain, or my desire to seek out other options for pain management. Dr. John Brannan treated my pain as inconsequential and unimportant. He did not offer me any viable alternative solutions, nor did he spend any time with me to solve my problem. Two other doctors at Beacon sent me to Dr. Brannan for pain management. Dr. Brannan in no way helped me to manage my pain nor treat my pain or symptoms. Dr. Brannan failed to attempt to successfully manage my pain. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I have seen Dr. Brannan a few times now and received two injections for my shoulder pain. He is very kind and trustworthy and took time to answer any questions I had. At no point did I feel pressured into anything. Plus, my shoulder pain is nearly gone!

Did not seem to care and that I was a waste of his time to even be there.

I went to a spine specific practice and they told me I was going to need surgery to fuse two lumbar together, which would restrict my range of motion. I thought I would explore my options and boy am I glad I did! I got a regeneration injection from Dr. Brannan, and I feel amazing--No surgery, no long recovery time! Thank you so much, Dr. Brannan!!

Dr. Brannan is amazing. I was told by two different surgeons I was going to need surgery to fix my chronic back pain. Thank God Dr. Brannan had a different idea! Now without surgery or a long recovery process I am pain free!

Dr. Brannan's style works for me. He was thorough and accurate with my diagnosis. I had two epidurals prior to the one I had with him. I finally had relief from my back with little to no pain. (long lasting result) Chronic back issues are exhausting as any one knows who suffers from multiple issues. The second time I saw him it was for a separate issue and again good results. Good listener and to the point. If I need his expertise- I will return if needed.

Dr. Brannan is one of the most caring physicians I have ever met. As a former LPN, that says a lot. He took time to explain why I had constant back pain, and what the options were to fix it. He's so nice!

This physician was quite intelligent and also practical in terms of affordability with Medicare for different treatment solutions. He speaks fast is personable yet doesn't spend very much time face to face. Yet he has a good amount of knowledge and I trusted him. If I could get my questions in somewhere; he explained himself to my satisfaction. I recommend him.
