Dr. John Joseph Brendese, MD

I have been to other Rheumatologists in the Charlotte area but chose Dr. Brendese. He is very caring and really listens to you. He is very thorough in his diagnosis and goes the extra mile in trying to get my Rheumatoid Arthritis under control. If you are looking for a Great Rheumatologist, look no further. I saw Dr. Brendese for 8 months and was very impressed with him as a physician. On several occasions I had questions or issues like flu and pneumonia and after leaving numerous messages with nurses, either did not get a response or it took up to two weeks. I voiced my complaint to him and was assured that things would change however that was not the case.

I did not get to see Dr Brendese as he kept me waiting 55 minutes. No one came in to say how long he would be. I would not recommend this Dr.

I absolutely love Dr Brandese. He does get significantly behind throughout the day but I quickly learned that it is because he spends a ton of time talking to each patient to ensure he understands what they are experiencing from a health standpoint. It is extremely unfortunate that the office is ran so poorly. Customer Service is non-existent in this office(Lillington) and the staff doesn't seem to care that their inefficiencies leave the doctors patients in a horrible situation.

I should have heeded all the bad reviews I read about this doctor online. I can't truly give a review of the doctor because I never actually saw him. I can tell you his office staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I had an appointment, which I arrived five minutes late for. When I arrived, the front desk lady was on the phone. She continued to be on the phone for another good five minutes, maybe longer. She then disappeared to the back somewhere. After about 15 minutes past my appointment time, she came to the window and told me I wouldn't be able to be seen today because I was over ten minutes late for my appointment. That was a lie. She said they would have to reschedule me for sometime at the end of the day, or I would have to come back in another day. When I tried to explain to her that I was only five minutes late, she was very short and rude with me and went to get the office manager. The office manager came out and basically just repeated what the other girl had… said. She wouldn't listen when I tried to explain I was only five minutes late. Very, very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this office to my worst enemy.

Dr. Brendese acts like he is clueless about everything? He never has any solutions. I think all they worry about is you coming back. I've been his patient for about 2 yrs. and I have basically diagnosed myself. They never call with results of any test at all, and if you don't remember to get results..they won't mention it. THEY ARE RIDICULOUS AND SO IS THEIR RECEPTIONIST!! So unprofessional!

I have been calling for last week trying to get a follow up appointment. Friday they said that the scheduling person was out and I needed to call back on Monday. I left a message earlier in the week , and no response. Now when I call the line is busy for the last few days. They seem to have some issues with scheduling as well as following up with providing lab results. On prior visits, I had to call back in to try to find out what the blood work results were. They were not planning to provide the results until the next visit which is absolutely absurd. This is the closest Rheumatologist office, but I need to find someone a bit better. In addition, it was always very frustrating to have to wait usually over an hour between the waiting room (15 min) and the exam room (45 min plus).

I don't care for Dr. Brendese or Dr. Nami. I've been in pain for years and on disability and they will not prescribe the pain medicine I need to control my pain. Instead, they try to force you to go on Orencia or other biologics which I do not like because of the side effects. I'm in the process of finding another Rheumatologist

Waited 2-1/2 months for first appt when patient knuckles terribly swollen. Dr. looked at hands and said he had rheumatoid. After 3 weeks of no response after several phone calls to office. A prescription was called in, with no definitive diagnosis.
