Dr. John Calvin Britt, MD

Dr. Britt is easily annoyed, angered and dismissive. Extremely unprepared when he walks in the exam room as to your prior treatment by his own colleagues and does everything in his power to clue you in that he thinks you are wasting his time. If you tell him so, be prepared for him to walk out & upon his return he will talk disrespectfully and will give you a physically aggressive exam. By golly, he will show YOU who’s the boss! He will threaten—yes—threaten—to “stick you in the hospital and start you on IV antibiotics!” This man has some serious power issues. He seemed offended that I was there bc I was afraid I was getting worse. As if the way I was feeling wasn’t the problem in HIS mind—HE saw the problem as my daring to ‘question’ the plan I’d been on. It didn’t matter to him that I felt worse—all he was interested in was belittling me. I am still stunned and the behavior of this man and it is obvious to me why he doesn’t work for Novant or Atrium. They wouldn’t tolerate such abuse… towards patients. And the real kicker here is, penta is a private practice and therefore they are able to post Bible verses at their check out area, etc. Point being, is Dr. John Britt masquerading as a Christian? This man who bullied a 60+ yo woman! A Christian? Wow. Actions speak louder than words so beware of this doctor. He may be knowledgeable but it is useless bc emotionally the man is cripple. The PA-C I saw initially was great as was Dr. Wagoner who was on call yet Dr. Britt’s behavior sullied & negated it all. I am canceling my f/u appt bc I’m afraid to run into Dr. Britt.

Outstanding doctor! He has been very thorough, kind, honest and compassionate with my husbands care, and we are very thankful Dr. Britt has his case!

Professional doctor and staff that we trusted from the start. It is a blessing to know we are in the care of an exceptional medical group and doctor.

If Dr. Britt could takeover my total health care needs I would switch to him without hesitation. He is the most caring, thorough, and communicative doctor I have ever experienced. I appreciate the amount of time he spends with me in exploring the cause of my health issues. He's one in a million! And this applies to his entire staff. HIs PA, nurse, schedulers-everyone has a can do attitude and express an interest in helping you. I would give higher than 5 stars if allowed!

Johnny has no desire to help, he's in the medical field for the money and the prestige. He is rude, very uncaring mean and hateful. He treats his patients like they are beneath him. Johnny does nothing but spew lies from the throne he sits upon

He didn’t listen to a word I said, didn’t even check my chart before seeing me and almost repeated a test before I told him I already did it. He was rude, unsympathetic, and didn’t even take the time to examine me just sent me somewhere else.

As a patient of Dr. Britt I am certain that he has worked hard to help find a cure for me. He spent the time with me that I needed. His nurse is very prompt at return emails or calls as well.

Dr Britt was extremely helpful: great listener, gave good, understandable, common sense advice, demonstrated concern and compassion. What I loved most was his statement about the importance and value of the patient's story rather than relying primarily on test results and medical records. I feel very fortunate to have been randomly assigned to his care.

He's a perfect example of what's wrong with American healthcare. I had an emergency referral due to difficulty breathing due to throat swelling. I was given a mountain of paperwork, and informed them I was really having a hard time getting air. I waited in the lobby for about 45 minutes and had four patients that arrived well after me were seen first. Then once I was called back, I sat in Dr. Britts office for over an hour. My boyfriend stepped out after 45 minutes and asked of they could at least get me oxygen, just something, anything because I was clearly in pain. By this point I hadn't experienced a full breath in over 10 hours, with not a moment of sleep. Once dr. Britt finally arrived, he went completely against everything my first doctor suggested, who took time to speak with me, take my vitals and discuss other symptoms I had been experiencing for years which may have been the underlying cause, but was not equipped to physically see the swollen area of my throat. Dr. Britt… dismissed any testing, prescribed an acid reflux medication (which upon my own research, I found would likely have an negative interaction with another medication I'm prescribed) called it into the wrong drug store and told me to "take the full bottle whether I thought it was helping or not". I was highly appreciative of them getting me seen under short notice, but I felt that they didn't fully understand how terrified and uncomfortable I really was because I didn't make a production of it. I'm a 21 year old female, so I haven't had much time to be jaded by medical professionals yet, but I really felt it was a perfect example of the get in, get out mentality.
