Dr John Arthur Campbell, MD

Surgeon canceled my surgery multiple times, support staff did not provide packet of information just tossed a small bottle of body wash to me and told me to use it prior to surgery. The day before surgery the last time it was scheduled his staff reminded me to drink ensure ect… they never said that the previous times and then she said it was in my box with all the information. Never received any of that and prior to the first 3 attempts had said only drink a tsp of water with my meds. They need to get their act together…. But not at my expense . The last time we paid for a room the night before in TC and when we went to check in we weren’t on the schedule at all!

Dr. Campbell has a pure heart. He makes sure that in every single surgery that he states if anyone sees anything unsafe, don’t be afraid to speak up. He is very caring for his patients. He takes the time and focus to fix his patients. I would highly recommend him.

While we was tough getting an appointment with Dr. Campbell, the care and surgery for a ruptured disc that I received from Dr. Campbell and his staff was excellent.

Dr Campbell was very informative with all the options in front of me. Answered all questions and concerns I had. All the gals were very plenty and welcoming. Looking forward to further visits.

Dr. Campbell and all his staff was very very respectfull when I had my appointment. He explained everything to me so I could understand. He was very sympathetic to my situation and gave me the answers to all my questions. I will return to him again. Thank you Dr. Campbell and all the gals in the office. Really liked his MA she was very kind.

Not worth even seeing, previous Dr was wonderful this guy is clueless and should just retire like he wants too. Dr. Paul Davis was amazing and did a great job.

Had severe hip and leg pain. Dr. Campbell explained every option to me thoroughly and told me the problem was in my lower back. Surgery went very well and on his daily hospital follow up visits, he explained everything to me. Pain is gone, haven't used any pain in and out of the hospital (Munson), who's staff also took great care of me. Dr. was very kind and compassionate.

Saw Dr Campbell for 3 time after I had my 3 MRI per his request because he had never seen anything like what was on my back before. When he came in u could tell he was already in a hurry, he was rude, didn't even bring up my films to compare each side by side or go over them with me. Said all was fine no surgery why all the severe pain? He said I already EXPLAINED that to u! Very nasty I then started to cry, I asked what can I do? he said that's not his problem I only do surgery! (but he was the one that was sending me to U of M) then he said nice seeing you and out the door he went.

Doctor Campbell explained how he could do the whole procedure removing C5 putting in plastic triangle ; cement etc; then he says" however you are a high risk and I won't do your surgery." My son was heart broken this was his second trip and second MRI and he is in terrible pain with his neck. The doctor didn't try to work out any plans to make the surgery work...as said in other reviews ...he couldn't wait to run out of the room. We are now looking for a new neurosurgeon who is willing to work with us,

Firstly, he was supposed to come to Houghton Lake. Cancelled on me twice so I finally had to drive from Roscommon to Traverse City to see him because I couldn't stand my severe back pain any longer. He wouldn't look at the Cat Scans & Xrays I brought, only the MRI he had ordered, said "I've seen all I need". Then he asked me all the same questions that were on the NINE page form I had filled out and did an exam. Then he proceeded to tell me he could do nothing for me. I was in tears, very upset asking "So I have to live with this pain the rest of my life?" He just kept telling me he could do nothing for me and practically ran out of the room the minute he got the chance. After that, we got another Neurosurgeon who comes to West Branch and is listed as one of the top 10 surgeons in the COUNTRY. Had my back fusion and laminectomy on May 17th and I am recovering well. I'm pretty sure from reading some older reviews about Dr. Campbell regarding lawsuits that I really dodged a bullet!… I am thankful that some power from above is watching over me and I ended up getting my surgery from a different doctor.
