Dr. John Joseph Champlin, MD

I have seen Dr Champlin since 2008. When I first met him, he asked "how often do doctors walkout backwards when they meet you?" He was absolutely correct in his statement. By the time my ENT, Dr Appelblatt who's also amazing, recommended I see him, I felt as though no primary medical care professional wanted to help me. All I knew has I had no idea what was going wrong with my health other than I was no longer in control of my body. After meeting Dr C., I went to a neurologist. That person didn't sugarcoat my diagnosis - they told me I have MS and Dystonia and I should divorce my husband, whom they never met. OMG what the heck!! That neurologist could have taken lessons from Dr Champlin. After he received the neuro report, he asked that my husband and I come in to see him. Dr Champlin was so compassionate. He kindly explained my diagnosis and offered resources and a brief overview has to how my life would forever be changed. My husband and I listened and then my husband told Dr… Champlin what the neuro md had so cruelly stated. Dr C assured us he would remain at our side for as long as we wanted and to this day I thank him for his continued support, advice, and truly caring about his patients - me. For a brief period of time, things got a little crazy and it was so difficult to make an appointment with him He moved from the original location to across the street at 6651 Madison Ave and I have followed. Now days he administers injections to relieve my contortions. Before he was doing it, I briefly went to another neuro md who required a machine to find my "hot spots". Dr C is so amazingly knowledgable he doesn't need any stinking machine to guide him. I truly appreciate him and will always recommend Dr Champlin

After reading some of the comments below, I was concerned about my first visit with Dr. Champlin. But many of my friends recommended him so I made an appointment. He is very intuitive -- listened carefully and answered my questions. I am very impressed with his skills. His staff was busy but generally helpful. It was crowded in the waiting room but many people were depending upon him and paying cash rather than going to their already paid medical insurance. They would rather see him than someone at Kaiser or other places. He is a great choice for your doctor.

Dr. Champlin is a JOKE! He has no regard for anything or anyone other than the money that he makes off of each visit. He double books all of his appointments so that he can feed his need for greed. The wait time is outrageous - 1-2.5hours on average. STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE!

Unethical, rude and disrespectful so called doctor. Calls you stupid treats you like your stupid and doesn't have an ounce of respect. Thinks he's better than you because he's a doctor. He expects you to know medical terminology and not ask any questions. He does not like spending time with you or looking, listening or talking to you. Horrible doctor. I gave him one too many years. Don't call on him if your dying!!

even if you wait 30-60 minutes seeing Dr Champlin is worth the wait. Compare Dr Champlin to paying matinee or nigthtime movie prices - Dr C is worth 2 full price tickets plus extra large popcorn and drinks. HE CARES, LISTENS, WANTS TO HELP AND HE DOES HELP.

Dr Champlin and his staff have been our primary care for over 15 years. They treat their patients like a person not a number. We wouldn't go anywhere else.
