Dr. John Barrows Chenoweth, MD

Misdiagnosed my child, wanted to prescribe medication intended for high blood pressure, then dismisses us as a client via a letter because we sought a 2nd opinion. Did not return any phone calls afterwards. Completely unprofessional! Avoid!

I am very disappointed with this doctor. To start, he spends most of my time talking about himself. He seems to intentionally try to waste time on conversation when I am just there for a med check. He also falsely confirmed that he accepted my insurance when he didn't. Then, he didn't bill me for 3 appointments and charged me the full amount and blamed his billing service for the delay. Since he billed me for 3 sessions at one time, I was not aware that he was not an in-network physician. I feel this man intentionally mislead me and now I have a whopping $348 bill to pay. Also, he only accepts cash payment and doesn’t have email to reach him. Very suspicious. I do not recommend this doctor.

I saw Dr. Chenoweth several years ago when he saw adults as well as adolescents. He helped me realize my potential and attain my education and career goals by using prudent and conservative medication management as well as valuable talk therapy. I wish he was still in my network.

My husband and I were unsure to start with (the process) but Dr John was amazing! He made us feel so comfortable with the whole process. Thank you!

I would not reccomend this doctor to anyone with serious problems. He doesn't seem to sympathize with the young damaged mind. I went to him due to his credentials but that was a huge mistake. I wasted my time and caused my child to be put through more than they had already been through. He talks a lot about his own education and how much he knows instead of listening to the patient in our case. I am looking forward to getting my child the help they deserve.
