Dr. John Raymond Cooley, MD

I was his patient in 1980 and have NEVER forgotten how he treated me. I was overweight and had severe hyperemesis and he was incredibly rude to me. I also worked with him as a nurse a Nd heard him make MANY rude comments including calling a patient a “fat pig”. He didn’t say it to their face and was very fake when he talked to them so I’m not surprised he got good reviews. He would write notes a in their chart about personal things in the patients life and would review it when before he went into the room. Patients thought he remembered their husband, child, or pets name since he would mention them. He preferred his patients be upper middle class - upper class and within 5% of ideal body weight, and NO pregnancy issues like hyperemesis ! His office staff would weed out patients that weren’t up to his standards ( “oh I’m sorry, he isn’t taking new pregnant patients at this time”) if you’re overweight…. RUN in the opposite direction.

I had a disturbingly insensitive and imbecilic birthing experience for my 1st.I did major research for my 2nd, 3rd and 4th delivery and without any question,I give mega accolades to Dr Cooley. Personable, knowledgeable, a great listener, non-dictatorial, supportive - the personification of the perfect ob/gyn. Believe it or not, this man is not in it for the money. He is truly passionate about his chosen field. Again, and without any reservation, Cudos, Cudos, Cudos!!!!
