Dr. John M Crump, MD

Dr. Crump is a caring doctor. He has operated on my husband, and my son, and twice on me. Dr. Crump checked in on me even though his partner was doing my surgery. We always choose Dr. Crump to take care of our family, He is a God-Send!

Dr. Crump corrected a hernia surgery botched by a previous doctor. The surgery was not a complete success due to underlying problems, however Dr. Crump was frank about the situation and re-did the surgery without charge. I also had him perform two minor surgeries. I have total confidence in him.

Dr. Crump successfully repaired another surgeon's careless abdominal hernia repair surgery that I had undergone a year earlier. Dr. Crump's first attempt to install a mesh patch had a slight complication. In the hours following the repair, he watched me closely in the hospital and determined that he needed to reopen the repair and double check for any issues. He frankly admitted that the fault was his and made the final repair without excuses or charges. I am impressed that he was monitoring my post-surgical responses so carefully. Otherwise, I might have had dangerous consequences. This repair has lasted 10 years so far. I found him to be frank, forthright, confident and caring. His office staff at the time was very pleasant and efficient, but I have had no occasion to revisit for many years. I interviewed 4 or 5 surgeons before selecting Dr. Crump and he was a standout, plus friends recommended him.

He asked personal questions about my not bringing friends to appt when I told him they were gone for holiday. Made me feel insulted. Staff changed my surgery date 3 times until I finally got another dr.

Dr. Crump, ..is the absolute Best doctor that I have ever had. He was willing to take a risk and perform surgery on me in 2003(emergency) that no other doctor/specialist would. I ended up having several surgeries many with a low expectation of survival. I was told that I would not be here in 2004 my another doc and look here I am!! Caring, is beyond what I can say he did for me, thanks to him when the outlook was bleak he waited until my parents arrived (from Indy!!) to be there for me and more important my "small" children they are now 21 and 26 and still have there MoM, thanks to God and Doctor that has faith, determination and actually cares for his patients...Yes "your most difficult" patient is still here!!

Dr.Crump had amazing bedside manner, I was however having issues with the hospital staff. Coming into the room they gave me switch beds, which was normal, but the bed they switched me too was broken, they said not to worry about it. Average responce of nurses averaged from 10 minutes to 2hours. Dr. Crump came in on Sat to check on me on the third day and saw that my nurse sign was lit, he asked how long I had waited, answer 1 hour so far. He walked out, 5 minutes later I had four nurses running into the room appoligizing to me, and no further issues were had. I found it amazing that a Dr was not only talking to me like a person, but was willing to call out the staff for unprofessionalism.
