Dr. John Joseph Cush, MD

This was by far the worst doctor I have ever seen. He was incredibly rude disrespectful and condescending. He didn't listen and actively dismissed my symptoms. He claimed all of my symptoms were from lack of sleep, despite sleeping 9+ hours a day, and prescribed me sleeping pills. He also referred me to a sleep clinic that would not take new patients for 2 to 3 months. And he went on about how important sleep was and how he's seen you thousands of patients and that's the number one cause. In reality he wasted my time, my energy, my money and his gross negligence led to permanent nerve damage that would not have occurred otherwise. Do you not waste your time seeing this doctor, unless you want sleeping pills and a dismissive diagnoses.

I’m submitting this again because I got an error at the end and it posted with only 3 stars when I typed 5. Dr Cush took me as his patient when I was at my worst. I couldn’t work, in severe pain, had already seen 3 other doctors and rapidly losing hope. He just told me he’d get me feeling better and back on my feet and he wasn’t kidding. The changes to medications came quickly, multiple questions every visit, frequent lab tests and if the results weren’t what he was looking for he confidently stuck with his approach, changed my meds until he found the right combination and everything fell into place. I’m back on my feet just as he promised. Some people may feel insulted by his no nonsense approach but I could see he has a ton of questions and only so much time so I answered yes or no and if I felt like something really needed added I’d say it quickly and kept quiet while he typed. Just let the man do his job and don’t get insulted if he tells you what you just told him isn’t needed.… He’s building your case and doesn’t want to hear how you never needed 8 hours of sleep before you got RA. Guess what, you do now so get used to it. Thank you doctor Cush! You’re the best!

Dr. Cush is a great doctor who diagnosed a harsh condition that I had suffered with for many years with no help! He accurately diagnosed me, provided a treatment plan for my condition. He has been my doctor for over 10 years. He twicks my treatment plan according to my physical condition—not always “same old same old.” He strives for my peak performance and pushes me to work towards my best therapy, which starts with me changing my behavior, as well.

Dangerous doctor. You have no say in what he prescribes, but he will randomly treat you like a criminal for taking what he forcefully prescribed for you later. You are risking your life to trust this man, because your care is subject to his moods and how scared he is of getting sued that day. Not sure how that warrants being called a "brilliant" doctor when you need to know absolutely nothing about medicine to know that withdrawal is extremely serious (seizures? death? hello?) and not something to hold over a patient's head...but again, he is more worried about himself than about you. You can have all the knowledge in the world, but if you don't know how (or do not care enough) to apply it properly, it is useless. There is a difference in a lack of bedside manner and outright negligence for your patients. It's not funny, it's not cute, it's not just a direct personality you need to overlook...not for those of us who are here for serious problems. A doctor can make or break us, and this… one will choose to break you in an instant if he feels like it that day. Dr. Cush will leave his patients in a constant state of worry, unsure of their care, with no stability. Anyone without a medical degree can tell you that's the last thing a sick person needs. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

Such a rude doctor. I was so uncomfortable during the visit. I felt as though I was being interrogated. He would ask me questions rapidly and then would repeatedly interrupt before I could finish my answer. He made statements about medications that are contrary to anything I've learned from other medical professionals and medical journals such as safety and side effects. His exam was rushed and not very thorough. He stated that he was the top rheumatologist and had trained all the others and he could make diagnosis without any tests. I wish I hadn't wasted my time. I left feeling bruised and battered. As I read the other reviews it seems that many other people have had the same experience. I'm sure some have had a good experience. Mine was not one of them. Its bad enough to suffer from an autoimmune disease and then to be treated with disrespect by a physician is just plain arrogance and a disservice to those who come to you for help.

Dr. Cush is a brilliant physician. He totally makes me feel comfortable and secure with his ability. He explains everything and even gives me a copy of his notes for me to reference after the visit. I am so thankful that I found him.

I have complex issues & had other docs give up trying to get my condition under control. Have been stable and functioning well under Dr Cush's care!

He has been my doctor for close to 5 yrs now and absolutely love him and his entire staff!! Would highly recommend to any and all!!

I have seen Dr Cush several times and no, he is not a chatty type of guy. He does listen to your answers to his questions and he is thorough. He is constantly taking notes on the computer regarding your visit with him and asking questions regarding your medications, symptoms and medical history. He cannot look you in the eye all the time of the visit because he is recording the visit and he gives you a copy of the notes he has written to give to your primary care doctor. I have found him to be an excellent doctor who has helped me tremendously. If you want a doctor to chat with and tell jokes, this is not the doctor to visit. He is serious in his work as a physician to work with you, not do for you, to assist you be healthier and with less pain. That is my kind of doctor!
