Dr. John Deback, MD

I have confidence that Dr. Deback was correct and very speedy in his DX of a rare and complicated disorder. His treatment seems to be reasonably successful. For these reasons, I believe the man is intelligent and good at his job. On the other hand, he refused to answer my questions about placing my child on serious, non FDA approved medications and threatened me with a report of medical neglect if I did not consent to this despite his refusal to explain. In addition to this, he used session time alone with my daughter to discuss his threat of reporting medical neglect and to threaten to keep her hospitalized involuntarily, despite her being there on a voluntary basis. He also used session time to discuss his negative assessment of my personality, and to assert to my daughter that she should be offended by our cultural norms.

What a pompous jerk. Don't ever entrust your child's care to this man. My child's depression got worse under him because he refused to listen and thinks he knows everything. He is a control freak. Very condescending, bad attitude, and definitely not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. Too bad, because the social workers who work with him are great.

I will never go back to Dr. Deback. He put me on crazy medicine that made me gain weight after he told me it wouldn't. It is probably the worst medicine he could have prescribed.

I first went to Dr. DeBack after having a mental breakdown. Since seeing him and a therapist my life has improved 100%. He's very caring and I recommend anyone the opportunity to see this doctor. Thanks Dr. DeBack!!!

My child doesn't get upset or stressed out when going to see Dr Deback. He seems very caring and understanding. He takes his time and listens.A+
