Dr. John Leo Dolan III, DO

Doctor is rude, makes veiled jokes at expense of patient, and I personally feel like he looks down on women. He thinks quite highly of himself and isn't afraid to assert this. Because of his horrible attitude and the point blank rude things he has said, my family decided to switch doctors instead of be subjected to such treatment by someone who is supposed to be a helpful professional.

Came in and it was obvious he was completely unprepared for the appointment. I had a lengthy referral from my PCP. I had a summary of my problems written out he refused to take it out my hands. Then preceded to ask what I was there for. I explained my symptoms to which he asked me to stand up. They said I would not be able to stand up so quickly if my symptoms were real. That was it my appointment was over. Nurse came in and suggested I get another referral. What!!!!

I was sent to this Dr after bouncing through various Dr's at Southern Maine Health care. Two PCP's, a rheumatologist. I had nerve pain in my feet, muscle pain in my legs and knees that were in agony, along with back pain. He did his 5 minutes of questions I asked about Lyme disease. He ordered a test in which I had 4 bands positive for Lyme. He brushed aside the results and said you need 5 for a positive diagnosis and I probably had it as a child. I am very glad I did not listen to him and got properly treated as my symptoms resolved. All he had to offer was his drug of choice gabanpentin. Time to do some more research Dr Dolan.

Dr Dolan's license should be revoked. Please, please do not go to this rude, arrogant, condescending disgrace of a human, let alone physician. Zero compassion with incompressible lack of bedside manner and basic people skills. I don’t care what degrees he has, he’s not qualified to to interact with patients or with family members. Do not subject yourself to this man!

Trust the other reviews. This Dr has some issues. I saw Dr Dolan for leg weakness that I had started to develop in both my legs as well as tingling in my right foot. His exam consisted of asking me to stand up from my chair. He then indicated since I was able to do that I was ok. Offered gabapentin for the pain in my foot. Felt I needed to go back to my family doctor. My family doctor apologized and referred me to another neurologist. What a waste of time and resources to see this doctor.

During my consult he read through my chart, assumed a lot, asked almost no questions. When my other doctors questioned some of my symptoms he argued that I did NOT have what it turns out I DO have and could’ve lost my eyesight to. FIRED.

I was seen by Dr. Dolan twice, once in 2013 and again recently, the first time I wont even mention what his inappropriateness was, since it has been years, then again I don't think there is a statute of limitations on these things. But this time, he did not hear a word I said, typed on the computer all the time. Refused to listen to my concerns for MY HEALTH. And then tells me one thing and my PCP another. This man should not be a doctor in my opinion, and he most definitely will not be mine any longer! I deserve to be listened to, how can they help if they do not listen???! So disgusted!

Dr. Dolan was very straight forward with his plan to help me. He took the time to thoughly explain my options and what he felt was the best course of action and why. He was pleasant to talk to and comoassionate to my concerns. The whole staff was wonderdul.

Not much upstairs with this guy.

This guy literally knows nothing. Im usure how he got where he is I guess everyone last in their class works somewhere. Bad mouths other doctors yet offers nothing in terms of a diagnosis or referral to another doctor. If you can read the nurses face it pretty much says Run!!!
