Dr. John Domit, MD

I saw this doctor several years ago. I would like to share my experience because it negatively impacted my life. I was yelled at by him instead of receiving ultrasound imaging because I looked at my sister when he asked me a question, which he made me explain myself (I needed to ask her a question to answer his - when did I notice my lump). I'm not sure if the doctor was having a bad day or assumed I was looking at her for the answers (?) but I have never been treated like this by a doctor before so openly as if it was normal for them to raise their voice at you like you're a child. After he yelled at me he told me he saw no reason to pursue it. He did not say why and I was on the verge of tears so I didnt ask. I just wanted to leave. I found out later my insurance was inactive at the time of my visit and I wondered if that was why he may have treated me the way he did. I didnt know until I got a $200 office visit bill in the mail which I didn't pay right away because I didnt know if I… could tell anyone how I was treated. I didnt want to pay him anything after the way he treated me and especially since I never got my imaging I was sent there for. It took me awhile to convince myself that his behavior was indeed unprofessional and rude and that I was right to feel the way I did. The way he treated me reinforced my fear of doctors and I didnt see another one for a few years. I did not return to my PCP who referred me and I'm sure if I had he would've made it right. I didnt want to be let down again and I had already done my job as the patient. I still have no idea what my lump is in my back near my spine. My only concern was finding out what it was and this man refused to help me because I looked at my sister when he asked me a question as far as I know. If you have to go to this guy and you want help make sure you maintain eye contact with him and dont look at anyone else in the room or your chances of receiving proper care fall to 0.
