Dr. John Erdogan Ergener, MD

Dr. Ergener was not very kind when I saw him. He made me feel bad like I wasn’t worth his time. He stated he’d do my surgery if I really wanted it but his tone was dismissive and he lacked a bedside manner. I mentioned something one of his colleagues shared about my situation and he basically inferred that they didn’t know much about the “back”. I was shocked and a little embarrassed bc he made me feel like I shoudnt have even been on his calendar. Fast forward 4 months, I’m in so much pain, but I’ve avoided going back to Kaiser because I felt ashamed and honestly didn’t know what else to do bc according to him, I’m basically not a young woman and our spines are only good for 30 or so years so this is normal at 45?? I found myself in tears during my appt. The nicest thing he did for me that day was hand me a few tissues to wipe my tears. He also mentioned he was retiring soon - I could tell he’s ready- he certainly didn’t give a care about my situation.

I am very happy with my Lumbar laminectomy spinal fusion surgery. I am please to say no problems or complications, i am 9 months out and doing fine. EXCELLENT JOB !

For me, Dr. Ergener was a blessing and savor to me. He has operated on me twice and he shows all the compassion and concern that I needed at the time of my illness. when I call him or send a message he has not once hesitated to get back with me. I will get a response within a couple of hours or within one day. I truly appreciate Dr. Ergener, and could not have been referred to a better doctor. I am with Kaiser, and my name is Valerie M. Arrogant

Dr. Ergener has done 3 successful back surgeries on me. He is a very caring and knowledgeable person and has a great team of people.

This doctor was very arrogant. He didn't want to take into account any opinion that my other physicians outside of Kaiser Permanente had. He offended me by questioning the fact that I had depression had on my physical condition. Having a psychology degree myself this is not how a doctor should behave. If you want a physicians opinion that has any empathy towards what you are already going through I would not recommend this man. VERY COCKY and rude.

he needs to avoid arrogance with patients

I would recommend Dr. Ergener to anyone needing a spine specialist. Dr. Ergener is compassionate, caring, informative and allows his patients to take part in the entire process, start to finish. He's friendly and spends as much time as a patient needs. I've had spine surgery from him in the past and will have another in the near future. I trust him 100%!!

Dr. Ergener is very caring doctor. he is the type of doctor that every patient would like to have. i can recommend him to anybody who's having a problem w/ spine. My husband and I always talked about him, how good he is and I do include him in my prayer for more success.
