Dr. John A Francis, DO

Very poor customer service. Does not fpllow up and could care less about people. They only show a modicum of care if you have good insurance. They're in it for the money and nothing else.

Rude staff, won't take care of prescription in timely manner.

Dr. Francis is a HORRIBLE psychiatrist! I was sent to him after being discharged from committing myself for having severe suicidal thoughts with a plan. At my appointment he had a student/intern/resident with him during my appointment in which I didn't mind. He (Dr. Francis) asked me at least 6 times if I was still having suicidal thoughts, to which my response was yes. Not sure if he thought my answer would change if kept asking. He replied with a smirk on his face, "You scare me, you're really broken and I'm not sure that I can fix you!" Then went on to say, "I'm surprised that they didn't lock you up and throw away the key!" Seriously? TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, not to mention very damaging to someone that is already vulnerable. I feel as though he was trying to put on a performance for the student. That was my breaking point....I acted on my suicidal thoughts that night....yes, I attempted to take my own life because he destroyed any glimmer of hope that I had of overcoming my mental… illness. I will never forget the visit, I will be forever scarred!

Dr. Francis is unlike any psychiatrist I’ve met. He takes time to truly listen to his patients regardless of the clock. He is not like most who seem detached and just want to write prescriptions and move on to the next person. You wait to see him because he doesn’t push you out of the door. He has true integrity and exemplifies what his profession should be more of, listening and using his vast expertise to treat patients as individuals.

Inconsiderate. Plan on waiting AT LEAST 2 hours for your appointment with Dr. Francis. Been going here for 3 years and it has always been like that.

Wait time is ridiculous . 10 am appointment not seen til 12...Dr. John Franceis is over booking patience.

Contacted the office yesterday. My family member is in need of care. Contacted again today. At least 12 hours ago. NO call returned. Had to seek alternate care!

Okay wait time is pretty bad but he is quick and to the point, shouldn’t he be? Everyone complains that he doesn’t take enough time and at the same time complains wait time is too long...

There many negative comments about Dr. Francis but I think he is a wonderful doctor. The wait time to see him can be long but I have experienced the same problem with other psychiatrists. He has treated my son for several years. He listens to me and to how my son feels. He has changed his medications several due to undesirable side effects or being to expensive even with my insurance. He may not look directly at you when you are in is office because he is reading through your chart and deciding if your medication needs changed. I also think his relaxed demeanor helps him relate to my son. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an excellent psychiatrist.
