Dr. John Hardin Franklin, MD

I went to see Dr Franklin for knee pain with an MRI showing a cyst, several pockets of bursitis, and runners knee. He sent me to 6 weeks of physical therapy which did not help. I went back for my second appointment with Dr Franklin and explained that I was still having pain, loud popping, and buckling in my knee. He responded that I was 46 and should just stop playing volleyball and working out. I said what else can we do? Can we try a sleeve or a brace or anything? He said no. There's nothing else. We don't know what causes it, it's hard to treat, there's no surgeries, topical creams don't work. He asked if I was taking aleve for my buckling popping knee. Basically if he can't make money off of you on a surgery and you aren't a 20 year old man he isn't interested in helping you. I guess at 46 you are supposed to throw in the towel, sell your car that is too low to the ground to get into because of your knee pain, and roll over. I am really confused how he got any positive reviews.

They got me in quickly, though pain relief is postponed until an MRI and another appointment the speed to be seen was very much appreciated.

First time seeing Dr. Franklin. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Dr. Franklin took the time to answer my questions and explained the surgery to me.

I had another appointment in Augusta, so, I decided to go to Dr. Franklin an hour and half early, just to see if I could get in early. They took me right on in. Dr. Franklin and his staff has always been very nice to me. We talk about the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State because, he went to school their. He always pleasant and in good spirits.

Dr. Franklin really listens to his patients. Office staff is friendly.

I liked Dr. Franklin immediately because he walked in the exam room and sat calmly while I discussed my issues. He really listened and wasn’t in a rush. He asked some questions and then examined me. He patiently answered all my questions, too. He wants me to decide when I’m ready for surgery, but I will gladly have him perform the surgery when it’s time.

Appointment was at 3:25, still at the office at 4;30. My time is important to me, showed up on time and still had to wait?? so today was a wash , for a knee that is still going to hurt

Dr Franklin is very good and very knowledgeable. He is attentive to his patients and I have had nothing but positive results with every visit and surgery Staff is excellent. Highly recommend Dr Franklin .
