Dr. John Newkirk Giesel, MD

Dr. Giesel is knowledgeable and clearly knows his job. I'm giving him a 4-star. Even his assistant is wonderful! She gave great advice to help my son transition from glasses to contacts for football. However, the front desk staff needs a LOT of work. The front desk staff is so unapproachable, unfriendly, uneducated and disorganized that I would be willing to see another Eye doctor to not deal with any of them. I have had several instances with several different front desk staff. Different times of the day even. So unfortunately, it's not just 1 or 2 people or morning staff vs evening staff. Most of them clearly all hate their job. I wish someone would address that, because they are about to loose a customer due to poor service and bad attitudes. There are lots of other eye doctors in this area. So, if you want a friendly "Hello" when you arrive or a "Thanks for coming in" when you leave or if you prefer not to be scuffed at when paying for service and don't have 3 hrs to get… fitted for contacts/glasses... find another place to get help. There are plenty of options!
