Dr. John T Grbac, PhD

Dr. John Grbac was appointed by the court, but after 15+ sessions, he still didn’t know my children’s names. He was routinely sarcastic, dismissive, and arrogant. When I voiced concerns, he’d threaten to write to the court or withdraw — but never followed through. He billed for missed sessions, refused payment plans, and delayed documentation unless paid more. He even looked up my job to question my spending. He showed no interest in our kids’ wellbeing — only in maintaining control and getting paid. If you’re required to work with him, document everything. If you have a choice — go elsewhere.

This is one review that pains me to write. There is so much emotional pain that is directed at dealing with Dr. Grbac. He was to be the therapist to help me and my son regarding a reunification case. First and foremost I'm well aware that a therapist is there to be paid for their work. I paid Mr. Grbac for the work he performed on the case. I saw this man three different times w/ regards to reunification work. **After he saw me and my son together, he informed me he was very sorry for how terrible the mom was and her manipulation to our son.** I asked Mr. Grbac shortly there after to write up a status report to the court to state the very same....he outright refused. When the mother was supposed to come in during her slotted time, she refused to show up on time and came 'conveniently ' the following hour; naturally Mr. Grbac felt compelled to charge me the hour for the mom's missed hour to my bill. I asked one more time for Mr. Grbac to write up a status report to the court… about what he had told me about the mom...out right refused. After this last request for Mr. Grbac to write up a status report he billed me for 'other' things' not related to me. **I won a credit card dispute against this man for $1,000's, I can prove the same. ** BEWARE: the mother easily went to the session door (where my son and I were talking w/ Dr. Grbac) and listened in on that session! She masqueraded to go to the restroom (located by the room where we were in our appointment with Dr. Grbac), I know this as my fiancé was there and spotted her doing this! I informed Mr. Grbac, however he had deaf ears about his poor system that doesn't restrict a manipulative parent from listening on in. I had no problem going forward w/ more reunification sessions, however this man didn't look after me or my son's best interest. It's transparent how clear Dr. Grbac is after your $ rather than helping you and your family. My son (years later) pays the price for Mr. Grbac's lack of help. Hey Mr. Grbac , I hope you sleep comfortably knowing full well you went out of your way to not help out my son!

Extremely disappointed with the way the doctor handled the situation. My 4 year old son was scheduled for an initial appointment and had a tantrum would not come inside for first visit. Instead of rescheduling or charging cancellation fee, I was charged the whole $220 out of pocket without any refund. The office rubbed me the wrong way and I felt very judged and uncomfortable as a parent in that situation. I work in the medical field and this is not normally how medical visits are handled. I will be seeking a different doctor for our next consultation. Extremely disappointed.
