Dr. John Chance Hairston, MD

I saw Dr. Hairston for several years for issues related to OAB. It was a complicated case, and all of the standard medications were tried without success. He did a TURP thinking it might help and it did nothing except ruin my sexual function. Subsequent Urologists have been shocked he would try this procedure. While he did explain the risks to me, he felt there was a high chance of success and there was none. The worst thing is that he seemed to lose interest in my case when it became difficult, and made me feel like he didn't want to treat me anymore, rather than continuing to try to find a solution. I felt no commitment. The feeling I came away with is that while he seems clearly very knowledgeable in his field based on his education and accreditations (you would not know it from my experience), it is time for him to retire from practice and focus on teaching and academics. I would never refer a friend to him and really think he days of active practice are behind him. He has lost the… desire
