this man saved my life after going to 2 other doctors after my diabetes was discovered..!! You will never know how grateful I am that he came to Wytheville when he did..!!!

Prescribing treatments in fields of medicine in which he is NOT trained or licensed makes him extremely dangerous. If you are smart enough to use tools like Vitals then you should be smart enough to know to go elsewhere.

I Dr Harkless to be a one of the most caring doctors I have seen. I have yet to be turned away. He gives me best care that is possible. He patient and understanding. If he were to move his practice to another city I probably follow as he knows me medically better than anyone else. I would highly recommend him for anybody's family. Other reviews seem quite unfair to someone practicing family medicine!

Working in the medical field I deal with doctors on a daily basis and Wytheville is LUCKY to have Dr. Harkless! I have not seen a doctor answer his own phone or call pts after hours. He was very caring and attentive and spent almost 40 minutes with me on my intial visit. I feel like the comments on this site have been VERY unfair and inaccurate- he is a wonderful physician with a great office staff

Dr. Harkless does not even know the difference between arthritsis and late stage IV cancer. Arthritsis never starts with a right temporal skull fracture. That would be bone metastasis. The chiropractic does not treat something growing out of the side of your head. 21 days to accomplish 20% of the emergency radiology work then make the oncology referral was a fatal decision.

I found Dr Harkless to be a breath of fresh air the this community's selection of physicians. He was very professional yet down to earth. The short wait time was the such a plus considering I am a working mom with two kids. I highly recommend Dr. Harkless for your family physician needs.

He doesn't show much compassion for his patients. That means a lot to most patients. If you want to be treated for something simple, like common infections, I would trust him. I would not go to him for something more complex, but on the hand, I wouldn't trust most Doctors from the Wytheville area with my dog. Go towards Winston Salem, NC, or towards Tennessee for serious issues if you want to have a better chance for an accurate diagnosis, and proper treatment.
