Everyone was very nice but they were always in a rush to get me out. They were yanking to remove brachytherapy catheters in order to allow another patient access. Treatment more painful than alluded to and I experienced the same types of side effects as external beam radiation. Need to do improve scheduling or increase treatment areas and be more truthful about side effects of this procedure.

I researched all of the options for treatment of my early stage Prostate Cancer, and finally settled on Brachytherapy with Dr. Hayes because: 1. Hospital was close to home 2. Brachytherapy had just as good of results as any other I researched, and better results than most. 3. Treatment could be rendered with just5- 6 days in the hospital, 2 3-day sessions 2 weeks apart 4. Dr. Hayes had a great treatment record of success over a long period of time, and 5. He had done original research and development of Brachytherapy treatment I could not have received better treatment anywhere. I am now 4 years out of treatment, and my PSA readings are at or below 0.1 ng/ml My PSA readings prior to getting a 4.2 reading just before treatment ranged from 2.5 to 3.5 ng/ml. I have only a slight problem with leaking urine, but not if I go very soon after I receive the urge to go. My sex life continues to be OK with a little help from Viagra type meds.
