Dr John Jeffrey Hockema

Dr. Hockema grew up in Lafayette, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, with distinction, from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1988 and was awarded the Glenn Pell Award for oral surgery proficiency. He completed his four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Indiana University Medical Center and Methodist Hospital. Dr. Hockema is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is Vice Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/Comprehensive Dentistry at St. Vincent Hospital. He is a member of the American Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Association, and participates on the team of the Pediatric Craniofacial Center of Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St Vincent. Dr. Hockema is a recent past President of the Indiana Society of Oral & Maxillofacial …Surgeons. He is involved with research on the clinical and medical use of tooth-derived stem cells, and his practice interests include dental implants and orthognathic (jaw) surgery. Dr. Hockemaenjoys fly fishing, hiking, and kayaking in his spare time. He and his wife, Lori, reside in Zionsville with their four children: Ben, Erin, Gracie, and John.
