Dr. Brett Ironside, MD

A horrid experience with Dr. IRONSIDE. I had my first initial visit with him and will not go back. I am pretty sure I was the 1st appointment of the day so I don't know what his problem was. I was sent to him because I had a seizure like episode and had not felt right since. He walked in and said I see you were here 10 years ago and had fibromyalgia and migraines. He was short, rude, and did not listen. I said yes, but I am here for something else. I tried to explain my seizure like episode and he cut me off the whole way through and was just looking down at his paper the whole time. He never even looked at my paper work I filled out that day. He blew me off and dismissed me completely, blaming everything that came out of my mouth on fibro and migraines, which were misdiagnosed in the 1st place. I left crying ansd feeling hopeless and scared. I took off work and drove 2 hours to have him rudely tell me everything was from fibro and migraines. I would like Dr. Ironside to know I… have finally seen a docotor who listened to me and I DO NOT HAVE FIBRO OR MIGRAINES. I have a rare disease called sarcoidosis throughout my body!

He never returns your calls. He forgot to call in prescription. Had to call 3 times before i found out it had been called in. I called another doctor who told me to call Ironside, he never returned my call. He gave bad information for taking the. He said to cut the pill in half to start, The phycrastist told me that medicine should not be cut up

In my opinion, Dr. Ironside is the very BEST! He saw my mom and right away figured out her problem and got her on the right medication. He was always patient and kind, never in a hurry! His bedside manner cannot be beat. Heck she even looked forward to her visits every 3 months because he was so pleasant! Thank you Dr. Ironside for the care you gave my mom. Unfortunately she passed away in Nov. with a heart related problem.

He never questioned the medication I was already taking to possibly create my chronic migraine symptoms. After 2 years, I was giving myself 2-4 injections a week to control the pain, as he prescribed. Only by chance, I forgot my medication on a remote fishing trip. I was so worried, but after the second day I felt a difference. (I’m fortunate to only have 2 medications at 63 yrs. old). It’s been almost 3 weeks since I stopped taking Lexapro for my anxiety, and NO MIGRAINES! Not even a headache. I must mention I have been to 3 other doctors, 2 are specialists, that never questioned this medication being the culprit. What’s happened to smart, knowledgeable doctors? Please come back to Arkansas! We need you!

Dr. Ironside was the worst doctor I have every met in my entire life! His bedside manner is absolutely rude! I went with my mother to follow up with him after her test results came back normal. We expressed that something is wrong with my mother, and he blew us off and said "Well everything came back normal, so what are we doing here?!" We expressed that we were very concerned because something wasn't right with her and we needed to figure out something. He said, "I don't know what to tell ya'll." Come back in 3 months, but I don't want to see you before then." We continued to pursue other doctors determined to get some answers for her. Ultimately we ended up at UAMS and my mother was just diagnosed with ALS 2 weeks ago! I will never recommend anyone to see this heartless, rude, arrogant human being.

Was able to get my mother scheduled in for an appt right away and from the moment we walked in and met with Dr Ironside He dealt with my mom like he would if it had been his own mother sitting there.. He was kind, extremely patient, very explanatory and acutely aware of how scared/worried my mother probably was. Although we did not like the reason we were there, we couldn’t have asked for a better Dr to be handling the situation.

I have read the reviews here and I would like to say, he is very patient, understanding, and overall pleasant. He has listened to what I say and I must say, I am fully impressed. I have not waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment after my arrival. As a matter of fact, today I was 15 minutes early and I went straight back. I am glad he is my neurologist.

I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. I would recommend him to famply amd friends. Thank you Dr. Ironside

Dr Ironside is ALWAYS on time; yet, I have never felt rushed during an appt. He listens to questions and answers those questions without being condescending, which is refreshing. He has been good about discussing with me options for treating a difficult medical condition. He was an effective advocate when (an unaffiliated) hospital about to do an MRI on my brain repeatedly messed up his orders. He is blunt, but that is fine. I appreciate that. I want to be treated like an adult, get the information I need and get out of the doc's office. I do not leave his office confused or with unanswered questions. There is no magic cure for my medical condition. Dr Ironside is quite competently helping me monitor and deal with it, which is what I need and all I really can ask. He is not going to host a pity party for me. I think I would lose it if I ever went into his office and said that my lot in life was sad and he agreed. That's not to say he does not inquire about my "mental state"… at my appts. He does regularly ask how I am feeling, because people with my condition do get depressed. I just appreciate the fact that he is not encouraging me to be despondent. He is appropriately humorous and seems not to be easily shocked. Various indignities accompany my condition. A little humor here and there when discussing those indignities is nice. He is a great doc.

Dr. Ironside was great. He took the time to explain everything to me. I left there feeling like he cared.
